Is it really only me who has suddenly started to get annoyed by them?
Mainly because nearly every single one I know wanted Wenger out a day before he signed Ozil, and felt the same way when they lost opening day to Villa. Now they've completely changed their tune. Oh, and not one attends matches (of the ones I know). They're starting to sound like the Man United tossers; and that's never good.
I may be on my own though...
It might be because I have a lot of Spurs-supporting friends, or it might be what you say (or probably a bit of both), but I have begun to feel this way. I'd like to see them knocked down a peg or two, which is odd when I consider they haven't won anything for ages.
As for Wenger - the guy speaks the most sense when he's not talking about Arsenal. I listen to everything he has to say, until he talks about his own players.
'The Arsenal' has existed since the Chapman days of the 30s, nothing to do with being pretentious, more of an historical statement! Bit like running out to Red Red Robin.
To be fair, all the Ars*nal supporters I know are fairly level headed and most of them never wanted Wenger to leave, a few did though.
Every club have got some muppets. We've got a few wanting AVB out and Harry brought back because we're not playing attractive football. Like WTF? 7 clean sheets in 10 PL games, 13 clean sheets in 17 competitive games this season, only beaten three times since March and people are still bloody complaining. When we finally get out of second gear which we seem to have been stuck in since Christmas, we'll be flying.
Oh, and I'm considered an arm chair fan now as I just cant justify spending £48 to go and watch Spurs when I can quite happily watch most of the games on TV or on an internet stream. I've been to two games this season, will be going to the West Ham COC game just before Christmas as it will be our little group's Christmas drink up but that'll likely be it for me unless my mate who works for Spurs throws some freebies my way. Being an arm chair fan doesnt affect my judgment no matter how much anyone likes to think it does. I'm still a club member, I'm still a member of the independent supporters trust, I'm still an active supporter. Not as much as I'd like to be but a supporter none the less.
Tell you what, I must be getting old or soft in the head but think Wenger deserves a bloody knighthood for putting up with all of the sh*t he's had to take last few years for Ars*nal to finally click like they have. Still cant stand him though lol. Christ, am I coming down with a temperature?
And as for Spurs being the Sheffield Wednesday of London, that made me choke on my tea.

just means they were pretentious bstds back then as well, they are just carrying on the pretentious arsehole attitude

I'm not having this 'Spurs are worse than Gooners' business. Most Spurs fans (bar the odd pillock or two) that I've met have been perfectly decent blokes. Quite like JohnBoy in fact. Whereas most Gooners are deluded pratts who think the whole world has always loved them because of the way they play the game (ignoring the fact that, prior to 1998, they were the dullest team in history) and whinge non stop about supposed injustices against them.

Used to have a real dislike for arsenal but they play an easy on the eye style of football and they're a damn sight more enjoyable to watch than most teams , after all they do sometimes make the beautiful game seem so

More deluded than 'this is our year' and 'the power is shifting in north london'??
Granted JohnBoy seems a top bloke but thats about it.
I dislike (not hate) Arsenal for several reasons. Most of them have been covered elsewhere but I shall sum them up as I see them:
1) The move to North London. This applies particularly where Arsenal followers from SE London are concerned. Most of them are supposedly "proud" to come from South London, but are happy to follow a team who openly rejected the area and left their great grandfathers high and dry, passing their local team's ground on the way (if they go at all) to Highbury/Emirates.
2) The cheating to get into Division one after WWI, and the boasting about never being relegated that goes with it.
3) Their then chief executive David Dien being one of the divisors and biggest champions of the setting up of the Premier League.
4) Arsene Wenger and his "I did not see it" malarkey.
5) The fans from miles away who should support other teams - even on this thread people talking about them being a local team for people from Hertfordshire - no they are not, they are the local team to a chunk of North London. One of their most famous fans comes from friggin' Oxford FFS. However, in this aspect they are no different to Liverpool, Man Utd and Chelsea, who I also dislike.
Finally a story to illustrate what some of their fans can be like. Had a lady in our bar a few years back giving it large about Arsenal and lording it over Charlton, so I told her a bit about their history, particularly the bit about buying their way into the top division. "Oh that's bullshit, don't be ridiculous, you are an idiot..." e.t.c was her reaction. She was going to call her brother in the morning to get the facts and come back and put me in my place.
made me laugh yesterday when a few of their fans on my twitter were going on about van persie, they call him a rapist at every given opportunity yet moan when he celebrates a goal LOL

Ah, you Guys! you're gonna make me blush.
Call myself a Spurs fan, I switched on Sky at 2pm yesterday to watch the game only to find out it was a 12noon kick off and Spurs had already lost! I had a quick glance of some of the Spurs message boards on the way into work this morning and there's a lot of toys being thrown out of the pram this morning, surprise surprise. I dread to think what Five Live and Talk Sport were like yesterday after the game! Cant quite believe people are calling for AVBs head already!
I must admit, I didnt watch the Ars*nal game yesterday. I sort of had it on in the background on the iPad and was watching a minute of it here and there and from what I saw of the second half, it looked like Ars*nal battered Man Utd without any penetration. It looked like they'd gone back to bad habit, not getting bodies in the box. If Wenger has got any sense, he'll bring in a big beefy striker like Benteke to give Giroud some help up there.
As for Spurs. Perhaps things are worse than I originally realised. Watching the extended highlights on Sky last night, to have 31 shots on goal, 14 on target and still not be able to score. Granted Krul had an absolute blinder but AVB should have them all doing bloody shooting practice after training until they start scoring. We're far too predictable to play against now.
Personally think a lot of people are being very narrow minded i know tons of Arsenal fans and all of those are level headed didnt ask for Wengers head and stood by the man. Your looking at a team that has a humongous fan base so you will always get morons and some people who dont know what they are talking about but if Charlton had the same fan base, stadium, money you would find the same about Charlton Fans i think people's hatred for a team clouds people judgement prefer watching teams playing like Arsenal then teams like Man U or Chelski/Man City who have spent money not made.

Needless to say we never saw her again.
Point number 1 I disagree with as if it wernt for Arsenal moving you dont know where Charlton would be now or even exist?
They've lost their first game since the opening day, away at OT and saw plenty of the ball.
I didnt think they had the squad to win the title but looking at Citys away form, Chelsea inconcistency, Tottenham inability to score and United with a manager thats only just won his first game against a top 4 club, they've got a good a chance as anyone. Even Liverpool are in with a shout this year.

When it really matters, I always expect Arsenal to bottle it. Especially against Man United and Chelsea. Mourinho has always had the measure of Wenger, and of their last 12 encounters with United, Arsenal have won once. A pathetic record all things considered.
I just can't see them staying there, although I agree with your assessment of the other club's. It is wide open.

I think I have not explained myself too well, to be honest. It's the fans who cheese me off, rather than the move itself. Glad you agree with the other points though.
I remember an Arsenal game at The Valley some years ago. Arsenal won and I was sat outside the Horse and Groom (?pub that's now closed) with my young son and brother and a good handful of Charlton fans. Anyway, a car goes by and stops at the junction, it was being driven by a woman and a young lad was in the front seat with his Arsenal scarf around his neck! Cue middle-aged Charlton fan in his mancunian effect trench coat to pick up his pint glass, chuck it at her car and hurl unnecessary abuse at the 'woman and her son'! Right w#%$¥€s 'all' these Arsenal fans eh!!!
Guess the point I am making is that every club has its collection of supporters who you would regard as 'undesirable'. But when you read some of the language and comments on here directed at people you don't even know you have to wonder!?
But one thing is for sure, I know who the w*%#$r was on that day and he was not sitting in the car!

1. Wenger is a miserable grumpy git who often makes snide remarks when England play on French TV.
2. They left a great old ground for a souless pit for tourists.
3. They have a badge (again used to look good) that looks like a cartoon image.
However I have to admit they are playing great football at the moment.
