Did Bally Smart start a game?
    Against Shrewsbury, league cup.
And what a game that was. Even by our standards, it was quite an achievement to lose after being 3-0 up. Some of those that played for us that day went on to become true Charlton legends - not just Bally Smart but the likes of Ross Worner, Yado Mambo, Lee Martin (recently of Cray Valley PM fame), Alex Stavrinou, Pawel Abbot, Gary Doherty and Akpo Sodje.

    Who?
  • Abdul Raziak - we had him on loan from Man City ( he was absolutely useless- btw can you think of any parallels with our current loanees)
He was a midfielder and he could only pass and move in the direction he was facing
  • Frank Nouble.
League career 50 goals in 400 games.
    Prolific he wasn’t.
Still playing, now at his 20th odd club Yeovil.

Came from Ipswich Town. Thought he scored for us on his debut? One and only game.

Some of the players that have played the odd game or two in the last 5 seasons .

Michal Zyro. I just had to check out his career - after he played for us on loan, he went back to Wolves but never made another appearance for them either. He went on to play for:

    Pogon Szczecin

    Korona Kielce

    Stal Mielic

    Piast Gliwice

    Jagiellonia Bialystoc

    Wisla Krakow

I looked at the list before reading your intro and thought, bloody hell I can't remember any of them playing for us.

In fact you have violated a court injuction issued to Mr and Mrs Murphy.  Said claimants have NEVER been associated with Charlton Athletic Football Club.

Jimmy Mullen. Left winger bought from Reading.  Only played 5 games for us in 1968/69 but they did include the famous, and televised, 2-0 win over Brian Clough’s Derby County and the 2-0 defeat by Arsenal in the FA cup in front of 55,000 at Highbury.

Tony Lange broke his ankle at Palace Boxing Day while playing for Charlton.

    League Debut v Fulham away.
Last game For Fulham v Cardiff.

Must be one of the few players who started and finished playing at the same ground for two different clubs.
