The sun'll come out
Tomorrow
Bet your bottom dollar
That tomorrow
There'll be sun!
Just thinkin' about
Tomorrow
Clears away the cobwebs,
And the sorrow
'Til there's none!
When I'm stuck a day
That's gray,
And lonely,
I just stick out my chin
And Grin,
And Say,
Oh!
The sun'll come out
Tomorrow
So ya gotta hang on
'Til tomorrow
Come what may
Tomorrow! Tomorrow!
I love ya Tomorrow!
You're always
A day
A way!

Curbs weren't exactly distancing himself from talk of him going to other clubs at the time
This, Curbs weren't exactly distancing himself from talk of him going to other clubs at the time.Ormiston Addick said:
Seconded. Curbs wanted to go, he had had enough and was exhausted.kinveachyaddick said:

I also think it was time for him to leave. Not because someone else was going to take us higher, but because he had run out of fresh ideas and needed a fresh challenge, which he himself recognised. It was the right time for a change; it's just that the change that happened was wrong!MyLeftFoot said:
Must sit somewhere different at games to me, so many people coming out with the "he's taken us as far as he can, time for him to leave". Hardly screaming for his head but same sort of thing. I used to point out that he'd taken us as far as WE could go...The Red Robin said:

I have no idea whether Pulis will keep us up. I reckon he's got a good chance though.RedChaser said:
So do you reckon Pulis will keep you up then?david sylvian said:
Wasn't this the kind of extreme levels of delusion that made your fans call for Curbishley's head because he "couldn't take you to the next level?". Jesus wept - do you lot ever learn?magic1999 said:Over the last 3 weeks this thread has had high's low's and loads of speculation. Saying that I feel a takeover will happen in time for CP to be able to dip into the transfer market he as probably been asked for a list of potential purchases or loans. A takeover is needed by someone (and I don't care who) has the future of the club at their heart, whether it at the Valley or away but stability is the key to it all a few quid to spend now to stay in the league, invest in the summer for a playoff spot if that not successful further investment to go up as champions. Once in the Prem just enough investment to stay up for the 1st year then invest bit by bit and in the end I would be happy with mid table stability.
For the record, I do remember many Charlton fans calling for Curbishley's head 8-9 years ago, and many of you getting ahead of your selves.
And I know, Palace's natural place in the scheme of things is about 7th in the Championship. Despite your elongated stay in the top flight last decade, I suspect many of you realise that Charlton's natural place is pretty much the same.
With hindsight it is easy to say that he "should have stayed" but you have to remember that he was in his last year of his contract and given that the squad needing rejuvenating then it tough to do that if the manager is leaving the club.
Sure, we SHOULD have had a succession plan but we didn't - but that does not mean that Curbs should have stayed when his race was run.0 -
Shoulda listened to flyingkiwiDK back in 2013, it would seem his worry/prophecy has come true. Psychic that manflyingkiwiDK said:Not sure I like the sound of this bit though.... "He paid around £35m to buy Standard Liege in 2011. But fans were furious with his policy of selling the club’s best players leading to pitch invasions and demonstrations in the streets of Liege."

....so much optimism at the start. I, for one, this time, will treat our new owners with a bit more caution.0
