  • Let's all calm down and wait and see who the replacements are before we hang RD from the nearest tree...

Although Yann is a good player, it may actually be a blessing in disguise. Perhaps RD has seen enough of our hoofball & thinks we could be better off with more mobile strikers - playing the ball to feet. Yann does not score that many from open play and the ones he does are spectacular rather than normal (if you see what I mean) - when was the last time you saw Yann run with the ball, go past a defender & shoot??? Yes, perhaps he is a target man and perhaps RD (and maybe CP) want to play a different way (they sold Smith as well don't forget)

    just saying

then again. perhaps the SL soothsayers were right a few weeks ago & that RD just doesn't care & is happy using youth & cast-offs from his other teams.
  • So who do we have left? Church, Sordell (who doesn't even play for us) and Pigott. Horrible situation.
  • Let's all calm down and wait and see who the replacements are before we hang RD from the nearest tree...

    A couple of Liege cast-offs.

We needed 2 or 3 quality players to survive before.

We now need 4 or 5. Impossible!!
  • WE WANT OUR CHARLTON BACK!!!!!!

This is an utter disgrace and it feels like RD, MS, TJ and even RM have just spat in the face of every single one of us, if my season ticket was in front of me i'd be seething so much to rip the thing up, feeling like we are crashing and burning and I don't want to stand there and let it happen, is it up to us, as fans to do something, again?
  • Sky Sports reporting that Charlton and Brighton have agreed a fee for Yann

    Brighton?

  • Clutching at straws a bit here, but possible that we're just saying 'take it or leave it' with the contract offer, showing him we won't be held to ransom. He may yet sign. Risky strategy if you've got nothing lined up though.
  • Fingers crossed Bournemouth offer even less than us

  • I hope that this is just brinkmanship by Kermogant and /or his agent. Otherwise, it feels like the Club is in meltdown, being used as a plaything by a Brussels beaurocrat
  • I'm fuming. And upset.

But am trying to stay calm until we know the comings and goings by the end of the week.

I can see Chris walking now though and I wouldn't blame him if he did.

Trying to stay positive but it's hard right now isn't it?

We need some big signings ASAP or we really are doomed.

I really can't face League One again, not so soon after last time.... if we were mid table then maybe, MAYBE, I could understand the logic of dismantling to rebuild stronger - not when we're third from bottom and with an already paper thin squad though!

ARGH please say this is a bad dream!!
  • Don't want him to go but it all depends on if we get quality replacements. Time will tell wether I can be p'd off or really p'd off.
  • If, as has been suggested, he's been offered a poorer contract than he's on now, it's completely understandable he'd go. If any money we bring in for him and / or Stephens isn't re-invested swiftly in better quality replacements we are all but signing our own death warrant, severely undermining the manager in the process.

I get the feeling Yann just wants to feel wanted by the club, if Bournemouth are willing to pay that kind of money he's mind is probably made up.
  • I have never felt so angry with the club before. A decent strike partner for Yann would go a long way to seeing us safe from relegation. Selling our best players is not the way forward. If RD wants to improve the match experience he certainly is going the wrong way about it.
  • He must want to go.

Liege fans tried do something - Roland said fine, go ahead, just pay me back the £30M I put in...TINA

F*ck me. Moans week in, week out about not having enough strikers in the team/on the bench and then is 'happy' when our best one looks like leaving.

    Mentalist.

Just trying to put a contrarian view. Don't get me wrong, I'd be gutted if Yann leaves, but in my mind he is not a striker and maybe, just maybe, this will make us change the way we play.

but then again, I could be wrong !!

Russian owner, no messing about like our very own RD. I suspect the offer will be to Yann's liking

    He must want to go.

And the fault of that is pretty much squarely on the previous owners. Nevertheless, it would be silly to imagine that the players have been impressed by the new start.
  • Seething.
  • Yann doesn't want to go, he loves the club, he and his family are settled in Greenwich, we have not offered a good deal and he has been sold.
  • Praying that we have someone like Chris Wood lined up with Reza and Jackson and then I wont be so annoyed.

I would take those 3 for Yann all day long.
    Eastandmike spouting off again!!
  • I'm too fed up to speak. I'm gonna follow ice hockey or netball or something.
  • Anyone would take those three for Yann!
  • He must want to go.

At his age he probably wants a longer contract than we are prepared to offer.

It would be ironic if RD has got his sums wrong, as far as operating in the lower tiers of the English football league goes, and he ends up suffering a massive loss as a result of all this.
  • You can just imagine every CL user logging on, getting all excited by 100+ new posts on the transfer thread and letting out a massive 'FFS!!!!'
  • met a Bournemouth fan in Halifax today on a plumbing job, he reckons they've offered us £1m for Yann.....
