The mrs is heading up to Chester to see a mate who moved up there (or so she tells me), on a train after work. Either way, out for a couple of beers with the unoccupied mates and will probably end the night solo streamed through the 42" TV as a treat.
As a happily single woman, I can just relax and forget about all this Valentines rubbish - well I could if every single person/company in the world didn't keep banging on about it!
But, having read the responses here, it seems it's all the men buying the presents/flowers/dinners etc. Shouldn't it work both ways? It's supposed to be about 'love' so surely the women should be buying gifts and doing stuff for the men to show how much they love you. Or is it just because it's mainly men posting here?
So, did you men get presents from the wife/girlfriend/mistress? Are they taking you out for drinks/dinner? Or is it just you shelling out a fortune on a load of old tat and hoping to get lucky in return?!

I got 2 bunches of flowers, chocolates, a card, a teddy and a lovely gift bag and he bought me breakfast. I bought him some chocs, a novelty cup, novelty socks a cuddly monkey and a big card I am cooking him some steak for dinner.
