For those who are often affected with issues at Lewisham, thought you might appreciate this thread of tweets from a fellow Charlton fan.

I thought this would be a reasonable place to post about Network Rail's decision to close the Angerstein foot crossing which allows local residents to access Westcombe Park (at short notice, without any alternative route planned, and seemingly without plans to tell local residents).

More here from our own Charlton Champion https://charltonchampion.co.uk/2019/04/10/council-and-mp-angry-at-network-rail-plans-to-close-angerstein-foot-crossing/

A petition has been set up against the closure, so if you have a spare couple of minutes please sign to take out some of the frustration you hold against trains, railway lines, delays etc etc...

Can't see why the wood has been cut down near there too, between the carpound and the mainline, penned in by the same goods  line on the further perimeter. It has no means of access except from the carpound and can't possible become flats as far as I can tell.

In the current climate, it's quite an impressive feat to be Britain's most incompetent politician. Hat's off to you, Chris, you useless turd.

Speaking in the House of Commons this week, transport minister Chris Grayling said: "With regards to the South Eastern franchise competition, my department is negotiating a short-term extension to the current franchise agreement with Govia while we make a decision on the competition.
"This will ensure continuity of services for passengers until November 10, 2019, with an option to extend the agreement further to April 2020."

This was down on page 11!  So far down that SoundAs had to start a new thread to discuss this evening's disruption: http://forum.charltonlife.com/discussion/85545/train-problems-between-lewisham-and-charlton#latest

If an alien came to visit South London today, he would undoubtedly report back to his masters that the earthlings appear to be satisfied with the service provided by South Eastern.

    Dear Aliens,

For the avoidance of doubt, they are farking useless, the khazi was out of order on my way to work this morning, all of the staff have got scabies and Chris Grayling is so utterly useless and utterly ineffective that has empty head has been registered as a Unesco World Heritage sight due to the remarkable peace and tranquility existing in the empty space between his stupid public school ears.

For various reasons I am no longer in a position to comment on trains on here or other social media.

Will always check out this thread though just for @MrLargo posts.

Firstly, this was on page 11! Secondly, here you go
  • Trains were stuffed from Cannon Street last night. Good old Southeastern were portraying Orpington as the new Atlantis as the reason that every line was severely delayed.

To be fair it is probably the webbed hands of many Orpington residents that prompted that impression.

I wonder if their upgraded website will feature the ability to store your annual season ticket details so that you don't have to enter the type of ticket, cost of ticket, 5 digit number, 10 digit number and photocard number EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU CLAIM!!!

To be fair to South Eastern, you can't really legislate for a burst water main knocking out signalling equipment in the area.

That was the track between Petts Wood and Orpington last night about 5pm-ish, posted to Twitter when I was stuck on a train between Elmstead Wood and Chislehurst.  Thankfully, I was only held captive on the train for 40 mins until we all got off at Chislehurst.

We've had an absolute deluge in the area last few days.  Willet Way on my commute from home to station was completely flooded at 5pm.

Page 5?! 11 days since the last post. I feel like listening to The Last Post every time I get on one of their filth-ridden torture cages. Come on guys, this thread won't run itself!

The scum have had their franchise extended until November, and it'll then almost certainly be extended until April 2020, according to my second favourite website (after this one, ahead of Porn Hub), www.railwaygazette.com. Presumably this is in order to give Chris Grayling a bit of extra time in order to figure out how to tie his shoelaces.

Anyway, 9 working days left for me until my work moves to Canary Wharf and I switch to the DLR. £1.50 each way, a seat every day, it doesn't descend into a shambles as soon as Michael Fish reports that there's a chance of light rain in Dundee, cannot wait!

Really worried for your sanity if there’s two websites ahead of Pornhub.

I got a bit brave as I’d just checked the trains and was about to leave work but will no doubt be delayed for the rest of the week

Queuing just to get into New Eltham station this morning, the platforms were that packed.

i let three trains go and am now back home until it calms down a bit.

Still, if trains are running I guess that counts as a “service”? The fact that nobody can get on them is just a minor detail.
