More details about the plans for toilets in this article. Even the serious specialist press can't resist a pun in a headline:

Relief for Southeastern passengers as train toilets to be installed

But of course, no funding for air conditioning.
The City Beam 707s which are the trains which will gain toilets, already have air con.

they do, but how many of them are on the routes we all use? We occasionally get them on the Orpington line but mainly its the older stock.

There is a tender to replace the oldest trains, the Networkers.

If they’re still using trains with tenders, they must be fucking old

Will it be back to the original 1967b  standard of a facility every 4 carriages or has that been superseded, anyone know?

The emergency services are dealing with an incident between Dartford and Greenwich. Whilst the emergency services carry out their work, all lines between these stations are closed. Trains may be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes, revised or diverted.

Major disruption is expected until 15:30.

    Customer advice:

    Southeastern

Due to the emergency services dealing with an incident in the Plumstead area, trains are unable to currently run on the Woolwich line.

How does this affect my journey?

Trains on the Woolwich line are unable to run, trains will be cancelled or diverted via Bexleyheath.

Trains may also be altered as we work to get trains on other Metro routes running on time.

Trains across our Metro lines are being delayed.

At the moment, looks like the Sidcup, Bexleyheath and Woolwich lines are all utterly fucked. I have almost no faith that they will be back up and running in time for any sort of normal (ie shit) service this evening.

All lines are expected to reopen shortly following the emergency services dealing with an incident between Dartford and Greenwich. Trains may be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes, revised or diverted.

    Disruption is expected until 15:30.

The article says "toilet" so I would guess that would apply to each set of 5 coaches on City Beams.

The local trains before the Networkers didn't have toilets. They had no gangways between carriages for a start, and in certain carriages had "death trap" compartments so you couldn't even leave your set of seats!

How many died in these death trap compartments? Or are we exagerating?

It was this murder which highlighted how potentially dangerous they could be.

    Fair enough.
Bit extreme though to blame a train design for some random nutter going on one.

I started work in Central London (just a summer job) in 1971 and only had a half hourly service on the Greenwich line. Slam doors compartment trains.

It was a real struggle to squeeze into the trains as they were so busy and standing room only at Maze Hill.

Lots of people got fingers trapped in the doors.

Trespasser between Lee and Mottingham today. Absolute chaos. Happened just as I got to New Eltham station train before mine left fine but mine was suddenly cancelled. Was stuck with a few trains worth of people trying to get on buses to Eltham. Once at Eltham the trains there were affected so more chaos.

If I didn't have drinks tonight I'd have stayed home.

Sadly such incidents happen. My journey in on the Northern Line this morning was completely disrupted due to a casualty on the track at Camden Town  :'(

No trains will run through Dartford for nine days in a row in February next year to allow major work to take place on the track.

If you don't follow the link, that's between Gravesend and Crayford / Barnehurst / Slade Green.

There's also preparation work 8/9 February and follow up work 1 March and 5 April.  I assume these will also be closures.

Perhaps the Stoke match could be moved to Friday night.

A trainee has bowled in at 11:45 claiming there were 3 hour delays at his station today. I think he lives in or around Medway. Can anyone confirm this?
