And yet when they introduced these amended services under the umbrella of ‘All Change’ we were told it was to improve reliability by removing congestion at Lewisham and not at all about costs. They really want if both ways don’t they😡

Where does he get £5m from? Did he pluck that bollocks out of his pants. Whatever, it always boils down to money. Never mind that it is a public service that people want. But you'll never make a profit out of some lines. It's like when Beeching closed down all those beautiful branch lines in the 60s. Memories of Thorpe to Brightlingsea and Wareham to Swanage. 50 years down the line they are proposing to re-start a regular service from Wareham to Swanage this year, thanks mainly to the efforts of the Swanage Steam Railway group over the years. Because ITS.WHAT.PEOPLE.WANT.
An odd article and it suggests that the MD doesn’t understand the reason why the rounder trains exist. Prior to the pandemic, I think there were six trains per hour on the three Dartford lines off peak, possibly eight on the Woolwich line. So 18 or 20 tph that need to be reversed. Dartford has a capacity to reverse 8tph and Gravesend 4tph without blocking the main lines. Two run through to the Medway towns, which is ample, considering the route via Swanley provides a faster journey to London. Therefore 4 or 6 trains need to be reversed elsewhere. There are crossovers at Crayford and Barnehurst, a reversing siding at Sidcup and the the depot at Slade Green where trains can reverse. All have disadvantages. Fortunately the spurs connecting the Woolwich / Bexleyheath and Woolwich / Sidcup lines mean that trains can be 'reversed' and run back towards London. Previously 4tph on the Woolwich line returned towards London via each of the Bexleyheath and Sidcup lines. Currently 2 tph on the Woolwich line return via Bexleyheath and 2tph on the Sidcup line during the peaks only. The Sidcup line rounders will return once and if demand returns for 6tph on the Sidcup line. Plus the desire by the relevant authorities to provide a nominal 10 minute frequency turn up and go service.
I may be reading this wrong but if you are travelling by train from Kent/SE London for today’s match it appears Thameslink trains have been reduced to 1 per hour. So from Dartford there is no 13:47 and returning from Charlton no 17:05.

Yep, that's how I'm reading it. I'm gonna have to get the 4.35 back. Sad thing is, I don't actually care about leaving early.
Is there anywhere online that shows upcoming rail replacement buses etc?
Keep getting rerouted to live issues not planned ones!
Been stung a couple of times recently on Sundays when nothing announced anywhere, app that can see your bloody ticket etc doesn't bother to tell you....

So less trains from Kent into Charlton, further impacting the travel options for our supporters when viewed in conjunction with the parking restrictions coming into force
A trespasser on the railway between London Charing Cross and London Bridge means that all lines are blocked. Trains running between to / from London Charing Cross be cancelled, delayed by up to 90 minutes or revised.
I’m not a huge fan of working from home, but I’d happily never have to commute again. I utterly despise South Eastern and the network infrastructure. 3 times in my last half a dozen journeys home it’s taken me 2-3 hours to do a half hour 10 mile journey

Can’t you superloop it to Abbey Wood, and get the Liz?

Got caught up in this today. Broken down train at Lewisham. Utter chaos at CX. Assumed it would be good for me as things were being diverted down the Bexleyheath line, all that happened was the train crawled back from London Bridge and took 1 HR 20 to get to Eltham. Absolute joke.

So glad I left early.
