Still in the Beehive, not sure my wife will believe the trains are this delayed.
Still here, might have some explaining to do.
As soon as you walk through the door walk into the kitchen and look at the sink and say "good all of the washing up is done" then run your finger along the worktop and look at it shaking your head. Before she has the chance to say anything slap her on the backside and tell her to get upstairs!!!
after travelling up town for over 30 years I am now at the point of looking for a local job despite the loss of income it will entail. I'm lucky in that in two years time at 55 I can start taking a pension from my previous job which will offset this, although that isn't ideal as that was meant to cover the loss of my wife's wages so she could retire. Last Thursday I had an important doctors appointment at 5pm. I got there at 5.40pm and luckily he'd stayed behind just to see me. Exactly the same happened last month. South Eastern fuck up my life nearly as much as RD has. Is it too much to hope both will sell up and go.

I have read that southeastern will not be allowed to bid for the contract when it is up in 2018. Trouble is I can't see anyone else wanting it..m

We should put together a CL consortium to bid for it

I've never really understood what's Southeastern's fault, and what is down to Network Rail. Anyone know?

The way I see it is any issues with the track, i.e. broken rails, frozen points, landslides, trespassers on the track is down to Network Rail.
Trains breaking down, staff not available is down to the train operating company.
Train at a halt at Abbey Wood. Someone had jumped in front of a train at Belvedere or Erith according to the driver. Expect delays for the rest of the week Is suggest.
I despise this company with every bone in my body.
Late every pissin day and today the driver closes doors and left a minute early, just as I was walking onto the platform.
It's awkward enough having to do a school run starting later than everyone else every day as it is without adding their constant delays by being at the arse-end of the rush period and stupid shit on top like trains leaving early (yet no doubt still arriving late). Will be late for another meeting now I really shouldn't be late for. F***ing furious.

Signal failures (most common cause of hold-ups) are down to Network Rail.
Freight trains which break down are not operated by South Eastern.
Staff unavailability caused by scheduled drivers or guards being delayed on previous journeys is down Network Rail! South Eastern are only responsible if drivers don't turn up at all.

I had this a year or so ago when I was going to cannon street or somewhere. This train had been routinely late for the week I'd been using it. I was walking down the stairs leisurely still on time and there was a train sat there. Then I see its the one I wanted EARLY FOR A CHANGE so I go to press the door open and off it goes.
'Hang on a minute' I call to the platform monkey it's leaving 3 minutes early
'I suppose you'd complain if it left late wouldn't you' he says to me
'For the fucking good it does, whys it leaving early'? Says I
'Well there was no one waiting for it'
I won't repeat word for word the diatribe I bellowed at him and I rarely lose my temper but that morning I did in an explosive fashion. I know people who work on the trains and have sympathy for the lack of information they have let alone what they can give us.
They are shithouses of the highest order every single day without fail the trains I need to get are routinely late like clockwork that half the time I end up getting a late train to go to a different station and bugger about crossing London to get where I need to be on time. It's a clusterfuck every day.
On the plus side I now know multiple ways to get to and fro where I need to be so I guess if I see it as a game it will be less annoying
Getting to matches last season together with the dire football made for a piss poor Saturday afternoon for me. I was undecided about whether or not to renew my season ticket, but not now.
Classic southeastern this morning waiting at weatcombe park (only going to Greenwich to get on the dlr today).
No announcement just a delay of service. Finally a train came through half empty but it was not a stopping at weatcombe park train, so it didn't stop.
Then another one came through, didn't stop.
By the time one came through that dos stop, nearly 40 minutes after the original train came through it was two carriages short. platform was rammed so only half the platform could get on. 45 minutes later on a train.
Now if they had said 5 minutes in 'unfortunately a passenger has been taken ill at Woolwich and the next train may be a while, we suggest those who can use a bus or tube, we cannot say when the next train may be but likely to be another 20 minutes or more'

Problem heavily reduces.
Nobody at Southeastern is anywhere near intelligent enough to think of that.

Don't know if it happened, but when i left Southeastern (16 yrs ago) the plan was that station announcements were being taken away from local stations and all announcements were going to a central point (Orpington was one of the main places). It was so that one person was responsible for all the trains on a whole line. We warned them it wouldn't work, so i don't know if it happened but it sounds like that station announcements is getting worse than ever.

I had heard they are running special trains, which arrive just after the ticket deadline :-)
Guys, what's London Bridge like between 5 and 6 of an evening at the moment? I've got an appointment at Guys Hospital on Monday, and am trying to work out the best way back that doesn't require me to battle my way through crowds of commuters.

Southeastern have done more to fuck up protests and attendances than the regime will ever manage
