My simple question is: does Dudu Dahan have any influence over player acquisition for the Staprix group overall and for CAFC in particular? I think the Trust needs to ask who is running the squad at CAFC for 2014/15. Under company law it should be directors and employees of CAFC. Simple loaded question
That would be interesting to know, because based on the last transfer window, whoever was in charge of player recruitment totally mis-judged the strength and quality of the English Championship. They saw an opportunity to cash in on a couple players in Kermo & Stephens but brought in inadequate replacements. Unless they wise up quickly and realise SL Reserves does not equate to the second tier in England, we will struggle to compete in whatever Division we are in next season. If they have been shocked by the strength and standard, then they didn't do their homework properly in the first place.
I'm guessing they realise that now, so their advisor needs asking what he was doing, he's obviously not up to the job. If you run a business, would you trust an advisor who gave bad advice the last time around? In old fashioned terms, you would need a new chief scout.
100% agree [except one detail Later]. The biggest question which I believe the club should reveal (to enhance trust and ticket sales) is a brief overview of the strategy for player acquisition and retention for next season - what is the ambition... Could we really be like Bournemouth and the rest challenging for that last play off slot?! Who is executing the deals and how does it work with the coaching side. It wasn't just the January window but the loan window was a fail too - we were in a cup run which could have paid for any signing with one more win but we failed to land anyone until Obika arrived.
The difference for the summer is that they have hands on experience of the squad and competition and must be able to accurately estimate what is needed for next season. Your writing @Tutt-Tutt is more articulate than many when it comes to football - I sense we are only a few players short assuming we can sign most of the best out of contract players. Probably best discussed after we are safe!
And that detail...I have seen reported on here a long time back that Stephens had a deal that he could leave if a decent offer came in - so his agent secured an offer from Brighton - in his stead we see Poyet and Ajdarevic so no great loss IMHO.

As you know, this question and similar ones has been top of the Trust list since he took over. @WeegieAddick raises some these questions in the latest TNT6.
But as to your question about it being a matter of company law; surely if we are owned by Staprix, the person 'running' the squad need only be an employee of Staprix? Further, we are talking about an executive role, so isn't company law irrelevant to that role? (I am only asking, and think its an interesting question you have raised)
However, what could be more interesting is this: if STVV and Ujpest are not owned by Staprix (we believe they are not), would it be against company law if somebody from outside those clubs insists that one of their players is loaned to Charlton (frankly I doubt it. It would just be a case of the chairman - RD's son at Ujpest - leaning on the head coach. Happens all the time)
But yes the overall question of who makes these decisions in the network, is crucial, and we, the fans of CAFC, do have a right to know this, in our opinion; so we will make it our business to find out.
The reality in this day and age is that if a player doesn't want to move then a loan or permanent transfer simply won't happen. By this I mean that you appear to give more credence to dodgy player movements than appears realistic. Bottom line is that the other clubs in the network appear tiny in comparison to CAFC and Liege. I agree that Duchatelet should clarify the decision making process re players as there appears nothing to lose... If Riga stays on and has a role in assessing the squad / listing requirements then it can only be positive to state this. I checked the definition of "shadow director" under the companies act 2006 and a parent body like Staprix is indeed excempt as it would be expected to have influence. What we all want to know is whether they understand the competition, have budget and ability to land the right players to enhance what we have already. If such an advisor is a football agent in another country then there is a clear conflict of interest as well as a potential breach of league rules (don't know detail here). I acknowledge your intention to find out but given that the club isn't engaging with fan groups right now how do you see this moving forward?
Meanwhile, Roland Duchâtelet already owns six professional football clubs in various European leagues . On 5 and 6 July , he wants his clubs together in Sint - Truiden for a tournament . " For the network teams Duchâtelet sir , this is a chance to get to know each other better," says co-organizer Peter Onkelinx in the Newspaper.
Duchâtelet is no longer directly to the helm at Sint -Truiden , but he certainly still have word to say in the Limburg club . Using his wife Marieke Höfte
This summer, there must be at Stayen a new stand and stand to dedicate in the wealthy businessman tournament in mind among six clubs : Standard , Sint - Truiden , Ujpest ( Hungary ) , Charlton ( English second division ) , Carl Zeiss Jena (German fourth class ) and Alcorcon (Spanish second division ) .
"This is a great initiative ," said Peter Onkelinx , who is site manager at Stayen . Besides a football sa fact Stayen includes a shopping mall , a hotel, apartments and numerous other facilities .
"On Saturday the teams will except Sint -Truiden , with each race finishing 45 minutes . Winner will play a charity match on Sunday against Sint - Truiden . "
" For the network teams of Mr. Duchâtelet is the opportunity to get to know each other better. It is also ideal to give them some . Supporters together , we are still looking for some business partners and possibly TV stations to broadcast the matches from . "
What about the sale of Standard ? What the tournament means to the position of Duchâtelet at Standard is unclear . He had announced last summer to sell after the fans had turned against him Liege club but now Duchâtelet already preparing for the upcoming season of Standard
Two days isn't enough, it ought to be a week long festival of football and indulgence, combining watching the world cup, the network games, the supporters tournament, the brewery visits, the chips with mayo, and the search for vegetarian food.

For those interested, the latest results from around the network are here
Standard have lost the leadership of their playoff mini league, while Alcorcon are still in danger of relegation. It's stressful, owning a football club, but when you own six...
Standard are making a bit of a pigs ear of qualifying for the CL.
They are and have drawn three lost two in the last five thus allowing their initial lead from March to dissapear. I wonder what is really happening over there? Their coach was just given a two year extension but has he earnt it?
What are the average attendances of the network teams?
I try to record the attendances when I can get hold of them. Sint Truiden average is 5k as I mentioned in the Trust report. Jena is 2k, and I fear Ujpest is around that , despite being in the top league. Alcorcon have a capacity of 7k, and sometimes they sell out. But overall, they say, follow the money, well I am having some difficulty with that.
Stats seem to suggest that RD is not particularly bothered about building attendances...so what is he bothered about?
It's baffling. In Hungary I thought he had cottoned on to a lucrative TV deal, but this is not as lucrative as some websites reported, because they had messed up the currency conversion. Break even at best . I don't see any other big revenue potential in the other clubs.
The Belgian Pro League play-offs are building up to a tense climax. SL are back on top after a good win, while Brugge lost at home to 10-man Anderlecht today, so it's SL 43 pts, Brugge and Anderlecht 42 pts, with 3 to play. SL have a crunch game home to Brugge next Sun, then 2 games that look relatively easy against the 5th and 6th placed teams.
SL finished with 10 men in their 4-1 win on Friday, the oppo Zulte-Waregem with 8.
Just watched FC Bruges concede an own goal in the last 5 mins of game to Anderlecht, who were down to 10 men (on live stream). The pace of the game wasn't as fast as the Championship but about that level. Standard Liege play FC Bruges at home next weekend in a key game. Anderlecht seem to be on a bit of a roll. A bit fortunate to come out with the points.
If Standard Liege can beat Bruges, who will have to come out and play, then they have easier looking games against Lokeren and Genk. Standard are still in a good position to win the league.
(What that means for Charlton or what Roland will do with Standard Liege is anybodys guess).
AD Alcorcon won again last night. They're not safe yet, but it's looking good for them. Maybe Roland Duchatelet really is a Lucky General!! It could easily have gone pear shaped for both of the Clubs he bought this year, but it would appear to be ending well for him.
As an aside, the Spanish Liga Adelante is very tight. Alcorcon, who have an excellent defensive record, are on 50 points from 38 games (with just 4 to play), but are still only 6 points above the relegation zone and yet now only 5 points off the Play-Offs.
I'll bet Duchatelet is loving every minute of it!! Wonder if he'll be at Standard today for their big game?
I wonder if other teams in the network are/were monitoring us like we are monitoring them?
Maybe might be worthwhile arranging an exchange visit to Alcorcon next season ? i notice that they also have some Standard Liege loanees and also Dani Pacheco - ex Liverpool ,on their books.

Funny you mention that. I was in Madrid several weeks ago and decided to take in the game between AD Alcorcon and Real Jaen. To cut a long story short, when we got to the Ground we were greeted by "Sold Out" signs!! Unbelievable!! If I go again I'll organise something in advance!!

Might be worthwhile attempting to contact 'Alcorcon Vida' or whatever they might call themselves (assuming they have one!) to see if tickets can be 'sourced'. I wouldnt mind a trip to Madrid later in year - lovely city.

I think the sale of SL was all about the right offer and that has not been received, plus events on the pitch have reduced the fans ire.
Not sure if the players are too interested in a get to know you get together that's more from RD's corporate background
There will be two groups of three, playing two matches each, the winner of each group in the final against each other.
Each supporters group to contribute up to 20 bona fide supporters (proof will be required), plus three 'officials', one at least should be a referee.
In the even that one club can't provide a team, Den Bosch should be invited, the trophy of course is the Peoples Cup.
That is the template, organizational details to be sorted out by
Someone else.
Could always start here... http://www.brouwerijkerkom.be/en
