Southampton have reverted to stripes, which makes the previous kit a decent long-term marketing ploy. Especially as they produced the new kit in-house.

So next year we'll have the "the red shirt and white shorts are back"
Was wondering who soton would use for their shirts seeing that virtually all their best players have gone!
Following on from "track-suit bottoms gate" I note that the largest size the club shop offers for shirts is 2xl.
I'm sure macron etc used to be available in sizes up to 5xl.
I quick google suggests Nike go up to 3xl as standard so why are we not catering for the more ample sized supporter?
Supply and demand. Maybe it's not financially viable to sell shirts of that size.
I think Macron were Italian. An Italian 5XL is, probably, the same size as an American 'medium'.
Due to the fact that most Americans weigh about as much as a small car* they make themselves feel better by tweaking their sizes. Nike being an American brand if they sold a 5XL it would, realistically, be a tent big enough for a family of four.
Was in there Saturday to get name printed on my son's new home kit he got from his nan for birthday and they have some nice training wear this season. They have a black version of the red one above which had me tempted, but I am of the "once you're over 18, you shouldn't be wearing a replica kit" brigade. No away or 3rd strip in there yet.
It's quite clever what they've done really. They, effectively, have more than one Nike football shirt, all be it that they don't all have the sponsors on them. They can sell the 'official' shirt for £45 and then sell a comparable short for £30 to those that won't pay £45 and/or don't like the new kit.

;-)
* clearly not really.
My nephew wants the vile third strip for his birthday and i may get my sons the away one , that home kit is not growing on me , it's just nasty !
Very clever.
Unless we mix and match I would guess we would play our first game in our 3rd kit.

Nice review of the Championship kits here, surprisingly few Championship clubs are in catalogue Nike in our division
Ours is the worst. Every club has proper marketing pictures and we've got a polaroid from the training ground.
Also, had to chuckle at Leed utd GK shirt, army camoflage pattern. Maybe so people won't notice how fat Paddy Kenny has got.
Best sponsor has be be Derby County-Just eat. That'll look mint in a XXXL...............

Napoli had the camoflauge kit a couple of seasons ago, looks like sewage muck.
