CAFC's Facebook crew answer to the font:

The choice of font and design of the logo was down to the University of Greenwich, not the club. They choose how it appears (OG)
What the whole university? or one person?

They asked a first year called John what he wanted to do - he chose it.

Of course it wasn't the whole university you numpty. When you're a big boy you'll understand how these things bounce around in a committee for several days before any decision is made

Alright. Mr my dads bigger than your dad. What is it today. I have been on this forum a while now and no one has said anything to me. Bit of sun comes out and everyone wants a fight!

Had a beer or three with Chris and Sue Parkes after the FL conference yesterday and I am reliably informed that the kit was chosen before RD and co took over, so I was wrong to blame them. Apologies.

As mentioned elsewhere, Dyke and his proposals went down like a fart in a space suit.

I remember Chris Powell saying something about playing in red shorts next season at a forum before he got the tin tack. Took no notice at the time.

  • £60 for a kids kit, I take it the trust are campaigning for this to drop, or is this less important then chasing the mystical network?

haha, no chance the boy is getting one till he's 3 or 4, and then in the sale at the end of the season

And it won't even be a Nike one , it's Avec for 4 year olds , least it was a year or so ago
  • Missed this before - apologies if picked up elsewhere. So according to the good burghers of South London, our new kit is at least better than Millwall's...

Thing is, both Palarse and Millwank have no sponsors on those pics as they had yet to find any. Cripples Paralysis now have neteller, a crud money transfer company no-ones heard of, and the Spanners have EuroFerries, one of the worst coach companies around. Happy days eh?

At least they might have the proper logo of their sponsor....
  • i quite like it. makes a change from the usual boring repetition on red & white.

Agreed, Rothko and next time I meet up with CAFC either as a member of the supporters forum or if CAFC ever engage with us again in any meaningful engagement I am sure that the excuse that the shop prices are not in the control of CAFC? will again be mentioned. However, this very subject did come up at the last meeting, and the recently departed Bradshaw was informed of a few issues at the shop. I do remember there was an agreement to report back on this...... If I do attend I will request the information, and ask about the cost of kits for our younger fans especially. Good point

Of course you could always have entered our competition... and we have invited views on this on the trust website....We’d like to know your views, we also hope to follow up shortly on the merchandising of kits generally throughout the top echelons of the league in a future articles we have posted. And then like myself you could have met the team involved in producing the kit, the marketing department of GU, and made your point.......in person.

Yeah I noticed that last week. Half the price, twice as nice and comes without the sponsors logos that makes it look much classier.
  • Whilst I agree it is nice, I wouldn't say nicer. I like our cheerleader kit!
  • On other kits elsewhere, big fan of what Puma have done for Arsenal, all three are excellent.

  • Does anyone know if there are baby versions of the new kits and if they are nike or avec?
  • Must have taken ages to get Ozil to look at the camera
  • Does anyone know if there are baby versions of the new kits and if they are nike or avec?

Since we've been Nike the kits for 4 year olds and under were Avec so I'd presume still the same
