I like the Laser II kit being suggested as the next home kit.

Shame Nike don't do fat sizes as I'd have bought that for use on my cycle commute.

Agreed nice simple shirt, nearly all red and it has a collar, but we need white shorts - we're not Liverpool.

Unfortunately I think this is going to be a running theme for a lot of clubs, UEFA changed the rules on kits in the world cup which led to England wearing block colours, Germany wearing white shorts, Argentina wearing white shorts and Spain wearing red shorts.

Eventually I think most teams will end up following suit, with most kits becoming block colours wherever possible. Even Southampton have used all red shirts for a couple of seasons

Stranger things have happened under RD than this turning out to be true ...

Like this incredible goal scoring run were are on
Who'd have thought this with rd in charge changing managers Willy nilly!

Another classic example of FIFA making up rules than do not effect the game whatsoever. What can thee really do if clubs / national teams just said no, we're going to play in whatever kit we like. It was refreshing to see Italy and England both wearing white shorts this week.

Kick them out of the tournaments? They'd only have do it once to one nation and the rest would do as they were told pretty quick.

I think you'll find the argument is that there are still many in poorer countries with black and white tv sets. It would make the FA look like real ar$eholes if they insisted that their team (earning a combined wage in excess of £1m a week) were to insist on wearing dark shorts when it means that the worlds poor would find it harder to watch the game.

This would be especially bad if it were only to enable the FA to sell more football kits.

Other than when we play Millwall, this hardly applies to us!

If it was my choice you'd all get Option 1 and like it
  • Any idea if this season's kits are likely to be reduced in the next few weeks? Fancy picking up the black away one but consious that seeing as they're about to unveil the new ones, I'd be stupid to pay £45!

Option 2 would be my choice .. I dislike the silly little collars that don't do anything except make it easier for an opponent to grab hold and throttle you .. Bristol City have had a terrific season, despite their soppyy kit

Until Nike took over you could easily pick up a shirt less than £20 as the season ended, but Nike seem to have stopped that and certainly so far during their regime they have not put shirts on clearance sale. I suspect there are a number of kids out in Africa running around in Charlton replica shirts or they are just shredded.

Liking garish away shirts, I wanted the orange kit but not for more than £15

I have to say that I agree with this. Maybe a second hand one on eBay, but I find it insulting to those that paid full price when they discount them - especially now that they change them every year. It means that a Christmas present might only have a few months use before it is selling cheap.

A few months is not too bad normally Christmas presents are normally cheaper the day after you open them.

As someone who always bought at the end of the season (Like the rest of my attire always out of fashion), I am disappointing not to be able to pick up the bargain, but I totally agree with Nike, now if I get a shirt its a birthday present at full price.

    Just to clarify something

It is not Nike who dictate things, it is a company called Just Sport.

Just Sport license the kit off of Nike.

I do think that it is poor show that they offer no discount on things at the end of the season though

Well, nearly every brand we have had in the past has done a sale to get rid of surplus stock at the end of the season.

If you looked at it from a business sense, Just Sport will be left with a large number of coats, tracksuits, etc etc just sitting there. Wouldn't it make good sense to try a flog it of off cheap as every other clothing retailer does?
