  • Why would anyone do that? The mind boggles!
  • Unbelievable, there are some real nut jobs around
  • Was watching the stream and listening as it happened. There was initial confusion and people were wondering whether it was a meteorite!

It sounds like everything was handed well and there was no panic.
  • Back to school can't come soon enough, obviously some seriously bored teenagers. Alarming they have a crossbow though
  • They've arrested...a 35 year-old?!
  • We had five overs of play this morning in the game against Hampshire, but since then the rain has prevented any further play. Surrey 16-0.
  • 123-4 at lunch on Day 2. We were 35-3 at one stage, but Foakes and Patel staged a recovery before Foakes fell for 47. Patel is still there and has made his maiden first-class half-century.
  • 200 all out, and that's tea. Patel, who eventually went for 81, and Foakes were the only players to make any score of note.
  • Not very good at all.

  • Dernbach gets the first wicket of the Hampshire innings, bowling Weatherley.

    10-1
  • And Dernbach also gets Alsop, for a duck.

    20-2
  • TC gets in on the act... Adams trapped lbw for 14.

    20-3
  • Good start, let's hope it continues.
Been a few times this season we have wasted a good start and blown any chance of winning the match.
  • TC strikes again for the third lbw of the innings - James Vince the victim.

    31-4
  • And another for TC! Ervine caught by Foakes.

    31-5... 200 isn't looking that bad now.
  • Now finish the job.too many times we get in positions like this and don't finish it off
  • Come on the Rey
  • 85 for 6 come on Surrey finish it

  • Bailey makes 50, but then Batty gets him lbw.

    129-7
  • And that's also the score at the close.
  • Still 70 ahead. Any lead is a good lead on this pitch with 2 days left in the game.
  • thanks everyone.
  • Still typical of so many times this season: 60-6 then a partnership providing more runs than the rest of the innings.

To a certain extent yes. But it's very unusual to run through an entire team and get no resistance. Either the ball gets older, conditions get easier or someone digs in and grinds something out. You cant bowl the smae bowlers all innings and your change bowlers may bowl more loose deliveries or get less out of the surface. Unless the pitch is an absolute minefield or it's men against boys you expect some resistance somewhere. Our innings followed the same pattern with one big partnership between Patel and Foakes.

I think we're in a good position and we need to knock these last 3 wickets off quickly. We can win this.
  • Hampshire currently 275-9, Gareth Berg making 80.

Another good position not capitalised on.
  • TC gets the final wicket.

Hampshire all out for 290, with a lead of 90.
  • 129/7 to 290 all out is shocking, that's why we have drawn so many this season - can't finish teams off!
  • 60 for 6
    And then
    290 all out .
    This really is unforgivable
