Quality player, think he's probably my favourite player in the squad already.
Is a toss up between him... Bikey (the man mountain) and Gudmundsson (Danny Green yet who's tricks work) for me
Can understand why the Belgian fella said that he was International quality when he joined (Fortunately for us Belgium just have too many class Midfielders ahead of him)
The guys energy is first rate, he doesn't have a great sprint on him but his consistant energy to move around for a tackle or easy pass is brilliant, he doesn't stop.
Duchatelet never wastes an opportunity to sell a player if another club offers the right amount. This summer, he sold the entire "heart" of the Standard Liège team that did so well last season (Batshuayi to Marseille, Vainqueur to Russia, Ezekiel to Qatar, Kanu...). He's made millions of profit with these players. If Buyens has a good season and other teams are interested, it will be very difficult for Charlton to keep him at The Valley. So enjoy it while it lasts, I would suggest.

I don't think it's a problem if players move on, providing we get well recompensed and we replace them adequately.
Clearly for Buyens, unless we can get him permanently, any money would not be coming into Charlton's coffers directly, but the network would benefit and that's ultimately good news.

You say that Chimmie, but we're number 1 in the network now, so we might just be getting a differed RD to you

One of the worst tacklers I have seen in CM for us. I will have to learn to appreciate his positives as the midfielders I have enjoyed the most over the years are those that dominate and have fire in their tackles (ie Parker) and that is not him.
I had him down as MOM tonight. No he doesn't win the tackles but he keeps the play ticking over and is generally very accurate with his passing. He's probably the most accurate passer of the ball we've had in central midfield in years.
Buyens seems to be a player that divides opinion. Obviously we've had Belgian fans/reporters saying how good he is and Charlton fans who think he's great and quite rightly point out that he can pick out a decent pass. I'm one of those that is not yet convinced by him. There's no doubt he's a good player in general, but I see him being caught in possession too often and giving the ball away with sloppy passes. It's as if he can't adjust to the speed of the Championship. He expects to have more time on the ball and seems surprised when he's closed down or even when an opposition player makes an effort to keep the ball from going out for a throw whilst he just saunters towards the touchline expecting no effort before realising and panicking as happened a few games ago.
Of course it could also be because our midfield is poor overall and we're not great attacking wise that's making him look worse than he is (to me). I don't know what to make of him if I'm honest. I think he is a good player but I'm yet to see consistent justification to think he's as good as some believe, at least in this league. Still we don't have anyone better so whether he should be playing or not doesn't come into it.
When we are in control of the game he is a good player. However, when the other team gets a foothold in the game he is not the kind of player who can turn it around. He missed so many tackles in the 2nd half yesterday, it was unreal.

Diego who?
Don't look like missing!

Quality player.
(I know we have him till the summer yet getting a perm deal done in Jan would stop him from going elsewhere and another club snapping him up)

Wilson, Cousins, JBG, Jacko, Bulot.
Richard Murray hinted that there was a minor issue but didn't say what it was
Question:
Who would win a 50:50, Buyens or Darren Ambrose?
If there was a reason and it wasn't publicly announced then I would assume it's not appropriate to discuss on the Internet.
