I suspect that when he weighed back in he was outside the tolerance level for difference in weight from his allotted weight and it was the lighter or heavier boots that was the reason given by Marsh. Given that every 1lb can make the difference between winning and losing one would assume this is why the Stewards came down so heavily on him.

BetBright sold their trading platform to 888 for £15m. Because of that they maintained that they had to close their sportsbook (which they didn't sell) by settling all ante post bets as N/Rs (apart from parts of those bets that were already winners).
Rich Ricci has now come out and said that, as a "goodwill gesture", they will now honour those bets.
Three things have come out of this:
(1) All bookmakers should be made to prove that they have the funds to honour all bets within any specific book and those funds should be ring fenced - if an individual lays a horse or horses on Betfair they cannot have a liability on any market without having already deposited adequate funds. Bookmakers should be no different and if they don't have sufficient funds then they should be offloading that liability on to a bookie that does.
Edit - they are not honouring all ante post bets - it's only Cheltenham ones and the rest they are voiding.
(2) The so called Gambling Commission has, as usual, gone into hiding over this issue.
(3) "Rich" Ricci is "Rich" Ricci for a reason.
888 are honouring Cheltenham ante-post - not Ricci.
That is, indeed, correct - they sold the technological arm of Betbright, Dedsert Limited to 888 and wound up the rest of the company namely Kelfast Limited under which they would have had the liabilities.
Ricci's arguments are laughable especially with regards to non Cheltenham bets:
"I'm sorry for people who thought they were on a winner and the price had shortened...........At least with this timing it gives people the opportunity to do something else with their money".
So, you've backed Luton for £100 @ 20/1 to win League 1. You now get your stake back and can back them @ 1/3!
Ricci wouldn't have lasted long in the City doing that but then they were/are regulated by the FSA/FCA and they would have done something about it. Unlike the Gambling Commission.

Forecast to bucket down all Saturday morning at Uttoxeter. He's run creditably this season on ground too good but conditions should be perfect for another bold show and, maybe, 3rd time lucky.
And, given the rain forecasted, I'll add my old buddy RAZ DE MAREE (25/1 e/w) to my Midlands National slip. Don't be put off by the 00057 this term on unsuitable ground. Nothing was finishing faster in a quality Welsh National (24L 5th) which, believe it or not, was too sharp for him on (GS end of) Soft. Also off OR137 (lowest mark for 2.5 years - 2lbs lower than when he took the Welsh National in Jan 2018). Another former runner up in this race and a testing 34f is right up his street.

There may not even be 7 finishers from the 20 runners but consider this: In 26 chases, last year's winner REGAL FLOW (33/1) has an 88% completion record. He's never PU'd and has F/UR 3 times (one of those over the GN fences). BTW 100% completion in 14 hurdles. Be rude not to. Not least because, while he's not been in the same form this season, it's arguable that this will be the first time in a year that conditions and course suit. Was put up 10lbs for his win here but underhoof conditions have also been against in all but 2 races since (Becher Chase, when he took a while to get used to the fences [not the biggest steed] and UR'd when beginning to move through the field, and Welsh GN which may have exposed a preference for a flat track, like Uttoxeter). Back down to just 2lb higher OR than a year ago, he made the frame down at Taunton on Monday (travelling well before being outpaced on GS). It would be a surprise if he came home in front in this competitive renewal but at a price .......
Agree entirely on Regal Flow. The other I'd have a little nibble at with Hills is Get On The Yager at 20/1. Same mark as when winning the 3m Roland Meyrick in 2017 on soft, and he's only gone over 2m3f/2m5f this year which is definitely not his trip. This is a huge step up and I can't help but think this might be a bit of a plan/plot by the very shrewd Skeltons.

13.50 - Solstice Star @ 7/1 - 1pt win (Bet365, Hills, a couple others), loves the trip and is back in a winning groove. Mark is admittedly a bit higher than we'd like, but well worth a nibble at the odds.
14.25 - Lough Derg Farmer @ 17/2 - 1pt win (Bet365), had a career best for Sue Smith last time out and while he's up 5lb for that, he's still quite nicely weighted and can build on that.
15.00 - Poker Play @ 25/1 - 0.5pts e/w (Ladbrokes, 1/5 1-5), definitely one to consider with five places paid. Had a good run last time out, despite not winning yet for David Pipe, but I'll hopefully collect each-way.
15.35 - Regal Flow @ 28/1 - 0.5pts e/w (William Hill, 1/5 1-7!) - see Peanuts for proper analysis, but I'd like to add that his trainer's done very well to work his mark back down and this could also be a bit of a plot.
