I Had mixboy and sturnrubin 22/1 2nd should of had em in ew double fancy one today broadclyst 40/1 hood record never heard of it before probably been winning on Scarborough beach.
Nice one. Nicked third. has fairly good PTP form só had a nibble at 50/1. paid for my footie bet tonight.
I can see it now, the Boodles May meeting at Chester transferred to the Hanger Lane Gyratory System - might be a bit tight, but no tighter than the Roodee!
Miranda, been given a entry for Friday at Newbury, waiting to see f she is declared tomorrow, from what Nicholls is saying seems unlikely she will run in the mares novices at Cheltenham unless she bolts up Friday.

Effective campaigning continues to see that changes are realised.

'We also note that Britain’s approach to the whip was recently endorsed
by the UK government who stated that it is ‘satisfied that the rules in
place are sufficient to restrict and limit the use of the whip in horse
racing’. A BHA spokesman said on Friday evening that, while no wholesale changes to its current regime are anticipated, events at the Cheltenham Festival could yet prompt urgent action ahead of Aintree.
That action would be to increase the penalties, not reduce the use of the whip. If there is a rule in place then of course it should be policed, with deterrent penalties for infringement. Nobody in racing has a problem with that.
15 runners for the whole card now at Lingfield and 27 at Fontwell.
If trainers aren't careful they might just find that Arc will do the same as they did to Folkestone - close those courses too!
I'm with the trainers on this one, though. The prize money offered at Arc courses is an absolute joke.
Also, Betbright have ceased trading. Rich Ricci isn't exactly skint, and I find it really shady how they've voided all antepost bets - I can't imagine they'd have had that much liability.
Then again, a friend in the industry has said they were apparently in the hole for £70m, so who knows.
just incase anyone wants to attend have 2 spare tickets ( free ) for the betfair preview night at the emirates stadium 7.30 start can be sent over as pdf.

I reckon that they should shave 25% off the value of all Group and Listed races and re-distribute it across the rest of racing. That would really rattle the trainers who are protesting and bullying the most and make a difference to the rest of racing.
And talking about bullying - how easy is it for these top trainers who don't support the likes of Danny Brock by giving him rides to say to him that he shouldn't ride today as there will be consequences for him to do so. Especially when those trainers will still get paid by their owners but Danny Brock won't for sitting at home.

Maximum of two runners per owner in every Group and Listed race and a maximum of four entries - or they are all coupled for betting purposes!
If it forces the likes of O'Learly (spit) or Ricci out then sobeit - the best horses will still run.

Oh, I should have clarified that I'm with the trainers on the boycott, but I think the way Danny Brock and the like are being treated is pretty horrendous. I hope he has a massive day - he has kids to feed and he's got a great opportunity to grab some money.
I saw Olly Murphy (who I do quite like incidentally) claiming those running horses today were being greedy - but no. A fair amount of these stables are having crap years and need the extra revenue, even if it's a few thousand for a race at Lingfield.
In an ideal world, of course, every stable would be financially able to boycott, but that just isn't the case.
BetBright sold their trading platform to 888 for £15m. Because of that they maintained that they had to close their sportsbook (which they didn't sell) by settling all ante post bets as N/Rs (apart from parts of those bets that were already winners).
Rich Ricci has now come out and said that, as a "goodwill gesture", they will now honour those bets.
Three things have come out of this:
(1) All bookmakers should be made to prove that they have the funds to honour all bets within any specific book and those funds should be ring fenced - if an individual lays a horse or horses on Betfair they cannot have a liability on any market without having already deposited adequate funds. Bookmakers should be no different and if they don't have sufficient funds then they should be offloading that liability on to a bookie that does.
Edit - they are not honouring all ante post bets - it's only Cheltenham ones and the rest they are voiding.
(2) The so called Gambling Commission has, as usual, gone into hiding over this issue.

(3) "Rich" Ricci is "Rich" Ricci for a reason. He is just exhibiting the behaviour of a lot of rich people - i.e. couldn't give a shit.
Northstandsteve are you at Wincanton today as I see Miranda is running? One of my horses is running there today,Alan Dugdale from here has ventured into this one too. Mystical Knight bought for a bargain and thrown in on form two years ago.......been off for a year and haven’t a clue what to expect today

That is, indeed, correct - they sold the technological arm of Betbright, Dedsert Limited to 888 and wound up the rest of the company namely Kelfast Limited under which they would have had the liabilities.
Ricci's arguments are laughable especially with regards to non Cheltenham bets:
"I'm sorry for people who thought they were on a winner and the price had shortened...........At least with this timing it gives people the opportunity to do something else with their money".
So, you've backed Luton for £100 @ 20/1 to win League 1. You now get your stake back and can back them @ 1/3!
Ricci wouldn't have lasted long in the City doing that but then they were/are regulated by the FSA/FCA and they would have done something about it. Unlike the Gambling Commission.

4 out of the 6 races at Lingfield are 2 horse races.
you could go through the card and not have enough winnings for a cab home.

"The Lingfield Placepot pays £1.10" !
It might pay more than the win acca
