  • Thanks Callum - told you me and early starts dont mix!.
I've said all along that Woakes shouldnt be anywhere near the team - much prefer to have Tredders instead - after all, Woakes batting isnt exactly anything to write home about.

Good delivery and good low catch for Haddin to get Bell.

    18-1, 3.3 overs
    Bell 8 (9), c Haddin b Hazlewood
  • Starc is also going at 8 an over - but i know who i'd rather have in my team !
  • 32-1, 7 overs.

    Ali 21 (22)
    Taylor 1 (11)

Like the look of this Hazlewood fella. Very economical so far.

Loose drive Taylor... very good catch at gully/backward point though.

    35-2, 8.1 overs
    Taylor 4 (18) c Maxwell b Johnson

Arguably a no ball there but Johnson (& home side) gets benefit of the doubt.
  • looked a no ball to me

Ali crunches Johnson through cover again. Go on Moeen!

looked a no ball to me

More they show it, more I tend to agree.
  • Is this gonna be like watching Charlton.
    I'm still unconvinced about Taylor - he's a shuffler.

    46-2, 10 overs

    Ali 26 (27)
    Root 6 (6)

I like Taylor. Think he's proven to be worth his place with a couple of decent scores in the series.
  • I hate Mitchell Johnson. Unplayable.

    46-3, 10.3 overs
    Ali 26 (30), c Finch b Johnson

Morgan leaves his first ball. Bowled.

    46-4, 10.4 overs
    Morgan 0 (1) b Johnson
  • We might be all out in time for the tennis at this rate.
  • This is like watching Charlton.

And now we have got Englands saviour - Ravi Bopara !!! - yeah right.

    I'm going back to bed.
  • I had a feeling before the game that we would be bowled out for under 100, I might well be right.
  • 71-5, 19.1 overs
    Root 25 (37) lbw Faulkner
  • 85-5, 22 overs

    Buttler 11 (13)
    Bopara 7 (24)
  • Faulkner's gone off injured. Aussie commentators are pooing their pants as he might be out of the World Cup.
  • Jos Buttler's just reverse swept straight into the hands of short third man.
  • Faulkner's gone off injured. Aussie commentators are pooing their pants as he might be out of the World Cup.

They really overdo the Faulkner thing, Aussies. Loved the way Bumble put them in their place a couple of weeks ago when they started to go on about him when he hit the winning runs - "he's only got 2 runs".

Oh bloody hell Woakes. Caught and bowled off a spinner first ball. Game to forget.

  • 105-7, 25 overs
  • 128-7, 28 overs
Broad throwing the bat around and has 23 from 17 deliveries including a six over the slips.
  • That was fun but he's out now.

    130-8, 29 overs
  • Bopara can't hit it off the square! Slogs a dolly to Johnson who puts him down!
  • 138-8, 32 overs.

    Bopara 21 (42)
    Finn 3 (12)

England require 141 runs from 108 balls. :-)
  • 147-8, 34 overs (or 132 from 96 which, with wickets in hand... if only)
  • 152-8, 36 overs

    127 from 84 :-)
  • Genuinely Bopara cannot get it off the square. What does he bring?!
  • Oh there you go, tries to slog and caught, right on the inner circle. Joke. Bopara and Woakes out, Tredwell and Hales in.
  • Bopara and Woakes the weakest links I'm afraid.

9 down. The end is near.
