Ok, lets try to get everyone away from footy for a little while!
Anyone think we can win the final v Oz tomorrow morning?

In AA's absence, i'll try to get a match dialogue going, but me and getting up at 4am hasnt always been a sucessful combination in the past.! Especially when its ffffreezing out there .
  • We have ZERO chance. If Bopara plays and Broad. Mitchell and Mitchell bowling at 90mph+ on that strip will cause us too many problems!
  • Wait, is that tonight (in 8 hours time)???

    Yes. 3.20 start.
  • Damn couldn't be worse timing with the Aus Open final.

What !! - you mean youd rather put a womens sport ahead of cricket ??!! Shame on you. Shame, shame, shame on you.
  • Hold on. Don't knacker yourselves out for the Superbowl.
  • No chance of a win if Johnson is back. We are so scared of him it's embarrassing. I'm happy to be proved wrong though !

England are unchanged. Australia take out their spinner Doherty for Mitchell Johnson.

England win the toss and will bowl first. Overcast in Perth.

Got that in the back of my mind as well. Oh well. I'm up now. In for a Sunday marathon.

  • FANTASTIC START! The ball is really swinging for Jimmy already.

    0-1, 0.3 overs
Finch gone for 0(3). c Root (first slip) b Anderson
  • 33-2, 6.1 overs
    Warner 12(18) c Taylor b Anderson
  • 46-3, 12 overs
    Bailey 2 (17) c Taylor b Broad

Smith 32 (34) is proving to be tough to dislodge again but otherwise a very good opening quarter to Australia's 50 overs.
  • 46/3
Bailey out after getting 2 runs in 17 balls
  • Bowling figures after 13 overs:

    Anderson 6-2-11-2
    Woakes 4-0-29-0
    Broad 2-0-6-1
    Finn 1-0-1-0
  • Might have a stumping of Smith here... third umpire.

OUT!! Ali beat the outside edge as Smith charged down the wicket. Buttler dropped the ball first time but Smith was so far down the wicket that he managed to whip the bails off at the second opportunity.

    60-4, 17.4 overs
    Smith 40 (50) st Buttler b Ali
  • 165-4, 38 overs.

Stubborn partnership this one. Two more overs of powerplay leading into the final 10.
    Maxwell 75 (89)
    Marsh 34 (51)
  • 192-4, 40 overs.

    Maxwell 95 (97)
    Marsh 39 (55)

I'll give you one guess on whose figures (out of our five bowlers) are last in this list:

    8-2-27-2
    6-1-25-1
    8-0-37-0
    9-0-36-1
    9-0-65-0

Maxwell throws his wicket away for 95. Skies it up in the air and Buttler takes. We needed that.

    201-5, 41 overs.
    Maxwell 95 (98), c Buttler b Broad

    Marsh 48 (60)
    Haddin 0 (0)

    Ali finishes with 10-0-39-1.

    Marsh 50 (64)
    Haddin 1 (2)
  • Haddin tries to sneak a two that wasn't there and has run out Marsh the dangerman.

    217-6, 43.1 overs.
    Marsh 60 (68) r/o Buttler.

    Haddin 4 (5)

Haddin harmlessly scoops Broad to Taylor at midwicket.

    224-7, 45 overs.
    Haddin 9 (12), c Taylor b Broad

    Faulkner 2 (4)
    Johnson 0 (0)
  • 225-7, 46 overs.
Great over from Anderson. All the quicks have an over left each.

    Faulkner 3 (6)
    Johnson 0 (4)

    232-7, 47 overs.
    Broad finishes with 10-1-55-3

    Faulkner 8 (10)
    Johnson 1 (6)

Anderson next to complete his final over.
  • 243-7, 48 overs.
Faulkner did some damage that over. Anderson has 10-2-38-2

    Faulkner 18 (15)
    Johnson 1 (7)

Woakes on next. Finn will bowl the last over.

    6-1-25-1
    8-0-37-0
    9-0-36-1
    9-0-65-0

    SPOILER COMING UP

    267-7, 49 overs.
Woakes finishes with figures of 10-0-89-0. Is this fella an international cricketer?

    Faulkner 41 (20)
    Johnson 2 (8)

Hopefully Finn can give us a quiet over. Commentators reckon Aussies have a very good score now.
  • Johnson hits it 50 metres up in the air and Morgan makes it look easy.

    269-8, 49.3 overs.
    Johnson 3 (10), c Morgan b Finn

    Faulkner 42 (21)
    Starc 0 (0)
  • Faulkner hits a six from the last ball to reach 50 n/o. Australia finish on 278-8. England need 279 to win.

    Faulkner 50 (24)
    Starc 0 (0)

    Finn 10-0-53-1
  • edited February 2015
    Anderson concedes 38,
    Ali concedes 39,
    Finn concedes 53,
    Broad concedes 55,
Woakes concedes 89 and is the only bowler to not take a wicket.

Could be the difference between winning and losing this game.
