Moores says Cook was dropped because they "were looking for more explosive players in the team" yet picks Ballance at number three at the first opportunity.
Moores will have all the time he needs to mull over the stats alongside the numbers on his P45. Quoted after the match as expecting spin bowling to provide the main test for the batsmen - didn't select the specialist spinner in the squad - even Dowie would struggle to rival that sort of idiocy. Time to fess up - who chose to bowl on winning the toss? Own up then resign. Morgan displayed, for anyone that needed convincing, that even he had no faith in himself as captain by once again slapping a pathetic bit of catching practice, rather than being a professional and earning his corn. He lacks at least one of: ability, intelligence and heart. A lack of any one should be sufficient to not be picked and he shows signs of lacking all 3 - so they made him captain. The rest of the squad can't be expected to deliver, especially under any sort of pressure, when the management is so transparently inept. The quarter finals were the realistic limit of expectation because Aus, NZ, Sri Lanka and India are so far too good but the level of performance has been embarrassing in many new ways.

This is very telling - the whole thing needs a rethink with no link to test cricket. Bring Botham in I say - the problem is they need a shake up but the old school tie mob don't like being shaken up.

Too much for the centrally contracted players to lose if/when they were to get dropped .. too many jobs for the 'boys' : the Andersons, the Broads, the Bells .. terrible coaching or is the 'manager/coach' in thrall to the so called senior players ... why is Buttler yet again stranded at number 7 when he is one of the better one day batsmen ? .. the whole structure from the selectors to the way that the team is coached, the way that county cricket is structured is decrepit and rotten .. AND of course, the English weather doesn't help to develop dynamic and confident personalities .. 'oooh the pitch is seaming along the corridor of uncertainty' .. load of old b***cks .. bring on the Ashes .. I'm having a few quid on another 5 niller for the Aussies
Bell - did ok today, but shouldn't be in a 1 day team for me Moeen Ali - keep, very good player, but pathetic run out today Hales - give him an extended run & see how he does Root - keep decent Morgan - get rid Taylor - keep. Ok terrible shot today, but has done decent up until today. Buttler - push him up the order.Ridiculous your best batsman is no 7 Woakes - not sure as he is improving Jordan - not sure, but not covinced Broad - he's been bowling too short in 1 day cricket for years, possibly under orders though. Anderson - looks good when he's not bowling too short
Oh and whatever we do, don't bring back that cock Pietersen.

Can someone explain why people are getting stuck in to Bell....
Although if you want to be critical, he was a huge part in the checking of our batting momentum today.
When Root came out to join him at 97-2 is when things started to go wrong in my opinion.
Although it will probably look like a Golden Age in five years time the way we are heading.
You've got to laugh. Beyond Parody as a CAFC fan might say ...
I think my words would be something along the lines of "Jesus wept....I quit."
Well done, a great win.
