Just hope we get the striker in. A good target man could be the difference between relegation and staying up comfortably.
Agree. When we clear the ball it needs to stick. But we need another option too. I'd be delighted to get Vibe - then we'd have a little speedster (Igor), fox in the box (Vibe and Watt) and a big target man (TBC). Church and Harriott are not strikers and are to be used sparingly. Let's be honest - Igor has been pants for a couple of months now. He is half fit at best - his control has deserted him and he doesn't seem capable of holding off a defender at the moment. He needs a game or two on the bench
We really need a creative midfielder as well. Apart from JBG I see nothing in that midfield as a creative threat (I include Cousins in that)
Whilst I agree with you if we could hold the ball up when it reaches the strikers I think it would make or midfield look more dangerous, currently we spend too much time chasing the ball.
Saw something on Twitter saying Cardiff will listen to offers for Kenwyne Jones..
Of course I doubt there's any truth in it at all but he would be the perfect striker we need at the moment in my opinion
£45k a week it's reported in paper this morning, that's why Cardiff will listen to offers.
That's the power of parachute money form you. If they want to talk about FFP, then parachute payments should be scrapped for a start.
Agreed, if only to shaft Palarse when they get relegated.
Unfortunately I don't think that will be this season, they are too good (it pains me to say that!!) They seem to have a decent squad at the moment and their crowd have really played a big part I believe. Best we don't talk about them anymore, at least until it all goes tits up for Pardew and his team. This is why it worries me with our situation at the moment with some fans talking about boycotts, protests. I know it is gut wrenching what is happening but we have got to get behind the manager and the team, those chanting at Luzon really aren't helping the mood at all. If at the end of the season things haven't improved (whatever league we are in) then yes let's voice our opinions down at the valley, but during the season I think would be disastrous....
“I’m currently staying at the Clarendon Hotel in Blackheath and I’ve just seen former Arsenal (and briefly my club, West Ham) starlet Jeremie Aliadiere sitting at breakfast with Charlton Director Katrien Meire. Looks like Charton are hoping his mercurial skills will arrest their slide down the Championship....”

Let's hope that there's an innocent explanation for this like he's been knocking her off rather than anything more serious like he's signing.

Must be nonsense. Anyone in the know would surely realise we only use the Marriot in Bexleyheath!

Ok conspiracy theory; swap deal involving Reza to Aliadiere's current club, Qatari side Umm Salal. :-0
Thanks Pig, that'll cheer all us Charlton fans up hearing who Wednesday have signed. Perhaps you can go a stage further and tell us about some money you've come into recently
Regardless of whether or not we actually sign someone I am preparing to be massively underwhelmed today.
I don't even think that the current set of players are even that bad (well...not all of them at least). IMO the problem stems from the complete and utter lack of confidence and grey cloud currently surrounding the club which has rubbed off on the attitudes of the players - most of whom look like they would really rather be elsewhere.
Can't blame them really. Then again they don't pay me £8,000 A WEEK to do a f*cking job!

I can put this one to bed right now. Aliadiere is the Manger at the Clarendon, and was interviewing Katrien for a Chambermaid job.

I'd say a creative player is priority over anything else.

Dont think we will need this with Guy's tactics.
We will have 3 hard working midfielders with JBG as half the time the ball will bypass midfield.

Let me start by saying in current charlton supporter fashion that whoever they are they are both shit.
