There are frightening number of people on here who need to stop reading The Daily Mail........or perhaps get laid.21

Cracked me up. Got the club spoken all over the place, and retweeted left right and centre. Great stuff from Marketing. Thinking outside the box! (Pardon the pun)4
-
Fucking brilliant... Top, top marketing by the club! Even my Palace mates thought it was brilliant!0

IMO it doesn't detract from the 'family club' image. Adults should be able to see that this is just a harmless PR stunt. A good one at that.
As for people thinking that it's inappropriate baring in mind the announcements of the U11 free tickets ... well it's adults who are reading all of this! How many U11's are going to be reading that tweet to see the video, and hiring pitches for that matter!
I don't think this should be read into too much is what I'm trying to say. It's basically just a bit of a laugh and if people have a bit of sense then there should be no negative impacts from this.0 -
I do hope no one has a moan about it, and mentions bringing the club into disrepute rubbish...
Bore off, Liven up, and go worry about something a tad more important.1 -
The whole thing is genius in the way it's gone viral. Showing the original clip 1st and getting everyone talking about it and then showing the whole lot is very clever.
Little bit weird and the last thing id ever expect our club to do but very very clever.7 -
Think its very amusing personallykentaddick said:.... am i the only one who finds this embarrassing for the club to be doing this?

Same here, I've had a few non-charlton mates contact me today about this all thinking it was great fun ...lighten up peopleAthletico Charlton said:Just a bit of light hearted fun. I have had 4 people email me about it today so it did get out there.
Hardly going to ruin our family club image, a staged video isn't going to stop me bringing my kids to games, would be seriously odd if it did!1 -
So are the club saying I can hire the pitch and give my mrs one on the centre circle?10

A massive amount of publicity for the club, the most inspired bit of commercial marketing from us for years!
And the thing is, it highlights how great the pitch is now, people watching that will think that we have a decent ground.6 -
Think it is out of character but brilliant, if the club had simply put the video out it would have been a tad poor. But to leak the footage and get it all over the place then put out the video is a good bit of work.3

Agreed, it's the fact it went viral that has pulled this from "cringe" into "genius". Great work by the new PR bloke.cfgs said:Think it is out of character but brilliant, if the club had simply put the video out it would have been a tad poor. Imagine we'll experience something similar when WHU take up their new tenancy just across the river. Await with interest Karen Brady's promotional video!

As did nicking Gillingham's fans by sending coaches to Medway and advertising on flyers to come and see Terry Henry but I don't recall people shitting a spleen over that when the going was good.

That, is hilarious. Good on the club for having a sense of humour7

Yes. One that creates families. ;-)razil said:I joked about this on another thread but am appalled to hear it may have actually been the club, sorry to get all Daily Mail but thought we were supposed to be a family club

Best action we've seen at the valley this season, do you think it'll make it onto the big screen on Saturday?3

Absolutely bonkers but a classic. So out of character for straight, boring Charlton. Am I the only one who is dying to see Airmans reaction to this2

Whoever was in charge of the campaign knows their stuff, the "leaked footage" created massive amounts of interest and publicity, whereas if they had just stuck out the video then it would have been of no interest at all outside the usual Charlton circlescfgs said:Think it is out of character but brilliant, if the club had simply put the video out it would have been a tad poor. Amusing but it is tacky and no i don't read the Daily Mail...or the Guardian but then again i don't read The Sun or The Daily Star either0

Onto the serious matter here. Why do you have Palace supporting mates and where did you find these weird creatures you call friends?CAFCsayer said:Fucking brilliant... Top, top marketing by the club! Even my Palace mates thought it was brilliant!

I have wall supporting mates not sure which is worse?
And I would definitely describe some as creatures0 -
Hahaha had me confused up until 5 minutes ago when I had time to read the article. Brilliant from the PR team, a little out of the ordinary but gives us some publicity. Lol not bad at all0
