Cracked me up. Got the club spoken all over the place, and retweeted left right and centre. Great stuff from Marketing. Thinking outside the box! (Pardon the pun)
IMO it doesn't detract from the 'family club' image. Adults should be able to see that this is just a harmless PR stunt. A good one at that.
As for people thinking that it's inappropriate baring in mind the announcements of the U11 free tickets ... well it's adults who are reading all of this! How many U11's are going to be reading that tweet to see the video, and hiring pitches for that matter!
I don't think this should be read into too much is what I'm trying to say. It's basically just a bit of a laugh and if people have a bit of sense then there should be no negative impacts from this.
The whole thing is genius in the way it's gone viral. Showing the original clip 1st and getting everyone talking about it and then showing the whole lot is very clever.
Little bit weird and the last thing id ever expect our club to do but very very clever.
Think it is out of character but brilliant, if the club had simply put the video out it would have been a tad poor. But to leak the footage and get it all over the place then put out the video is a good bit of work.

Agreed, it's the fact it went viral that has pulled this from "cringe" into "genius". Great work by the new PR bloke.
Imagine we'll experience something similar when WHU take up their new tenancy just across the river. Await with interest Karen Brady's promotional video!
As did nicking Gillingham's fans by sending coaches to Medway and advertising on flyers to come and see Terry Henry but I don't recall people shitting a spleen over that when the going was good.

I joked about this on another thread but am appalled to hear it may have actually been the club, sorry to get all Daily Mail but thought we were supposed to be a family club

This. (Don't forget to bring your car keys to the next trust meeting)
Yup but I never take my kids to those although I once bring my puppy Loki as he was then

Whoever was in charge of the campaign knows their stuff, the "leaked footage" created massive amounts of interest and publicity, whereas if they had just stuck out the video then it would have been of no interest at all outside the usual Charlton circles
Hahaha had me confused up until 5 minutes ago when I had time to read the article. Brilliant from the PR team, a little out of the ordinary but gives us some publicity. Lol not bad at all

In a word, brilliant.

Bore off, Liven up, and go worry about something a tad more important.

Would
And the thing is, it highlights how great the pitch is now, people watching that will think that we have a decent ground.

And I would definitely describe some as creatures
