Horizontal Speed did what a few of them did in the Gold Cup last year - ducked left when the rails divide and they use tape. Lost a lot of momentum though probably wouldn't have held off the winner.
Any winners today Peanuts?
What today told us. Mullins horses are flying. Going to have a dabble on Champagne Fever and Dom Poli etc. Will also look a giggenstown horses at the end of the week.
Only the one dabble today Abs (Barakilla - can't understand why he didn't get home, loads of stamina in the breeding). Tend to duck the first day these days - two 2m hurdles and too many hard to oppose favs. Interesting runs from all 5 GN entries today though.
Actually, looking at that last finish head on, Thomas Crapper and Generous Ransom went left to go round again aswell. Their eyes seem to follow the rail and don't register the tape. Jockey on Horizontal Speed didn't help himself with whip in right hand, presumably looking for help from the rail/tape. If I were a jock I'd be wanting to come down the middle or stand side at the finish of a chase.
Is it possible to do an each way Acca? I use bet365 but as soon as I pick any at each way and then pick 4/5 fold and put my total stake in, it automatically puts them down as win and each way. And if I just put total stake in, it lists them as singles.
I'm not up on horse racing but just want a bit of interest given the occasion

dont know if youre using the phone app or web but often there is a 'multiple bet options' drop down thing on your betting slip giving you all possible bets.
From this morning's Sport section of the Worcester News: "A Fernhill Heath racing syndicate are eyeing success for Theatre Queen today as the Cheltenham Festival gets under way ... While it is only Theatre Queen's sixth outing under rules in 12 months, following her switch from point-to-point, connections are confident she can do well".
Result: Theatre Queen - a mare, aged 8 - Fell, Injured, Destroyed.

That's correct cables because say for instance you pay £5 e/w so total £10. The first £5 goes on the win the second goes on the e/w part of the bet hence you are staking to win and e/w

LOL how did you manage to open so many accounts? Never had an account with them before? I dried that source out years ago.

@Anna_Kissed Can we assume you a) don't eat meat/fish? b) don't consume diary/eggs/processed foods tainted by animal fats etc? c) wear clothes or shoes that use any animal bi-products? d) use any products that could have been made using animal bi-products?

I already had 6 a/cs, but hadn't bothered for a couple of years.
So I opened another 6 today. Paddy Power, Racebets, Betfred, Betfair, Corals and Betbright. That's why I've not been on here all day. More than paid for next season's S/T
1.30 Shaneshill 2.05 Court Minstrel 2.40 Barakilla 3.20 The New One 4.00 Polly Peachum 4.40 Theatre Queen - Have a feeling it may refuse to race though but really fancy it at a price.
Shocking start, wasn't going to win. Wish was pulled up. Still being looked at, hope OK.
It was always the risk, should have left it really. If it refuses on a normal day then it would have prob shit itself today.
A very poor day for the home challenge. Saturday after Saturday we watch Nicholls and Henderson cleaning up the big races and completely dominating the domestic action. Then, come the festival, the Irish bring over the big guns and slaughter the home challenge in most of the important races. I discount the handicaps from this, as we have managed to handicap most of the Irish challenge into submission. Where is it going wrong for the British trainers?

I think what's happened is that the Irish used to solely rely on home produced horses. Then Martin Pipe, Paul Nicholls etc started to buy French breds that were more precocious than their Irish counterparts so the owners attached to the the likes of the Mullins stable decided to do the same - and now they have the pick of both.
In 2004, for example, Mullins sent over 18 horses of which just one was French bred. In 2014 he sent over 37 of which 14 were French breds.
It also helps when you have an owner such as Rich Ricci (quote from two years ago):
Ricci loves raising horses—he and his wife own 40 horses in total—but his true passion is entering them in Irish horse races. When asked about why he prefers to race his horses in Ireland rather than in, say, England where he lives, Ricci responded: “I often get calls from trainers in England wondering why I don’t have horses in training there, considering I’m based in England (actually Kent), but I just love Irish racing. The people are fantastic, the atmosphere is really good and the prize-money is still attractive. My wife and I get a real buzz from it.”
And those horses include, of course, Douvan, Faugheen, Annie Power, Vautour Champagne Fever, Djakadam etc etc.

Cheers smiffy. I can't really afford to be putting £10, £20s and above this month so really looking at accas (although I know they're a lot harder in horse racing, ie that one that fell today for Ruby Walsh), and e/w hedges it a bit. I've seen your tips for 2mo so might have to follow suit.....
