Merely pointing out there is bad on all sides. How many of those whining about him on here are in wattsap groups exchanging crude jokes. or exchanging pornagrsphic pictures. Most I would suggest. It's the hypocrisy of the usual suspects I csnt stand.Arsenetatters said:
I think she was wrong to say that. Tbh since it now appears the allegations against him are more of a predatory nature I think the time for joking has passed.Chippycafc said:See Ksy Burley made sexual innuendo comments about Greg Wallace sexual prowess...... Yep it's definitely misogyny1 -
No I don't think it is. Possibly contempt of women with him saying it's about middle aged women moaning about it.thenewbie said:

You're *really* upset that a predatory, unpleasant misogynist sex pest is getting his comeuppance, aren't you?
What must it be like on that side of the argument?10 -
Tbf I wouldn’t WhatsApp those things to a work colleague, let alone a female one. Wallace doesn’t appear to know where to draw the line.Chippycafc said:

It's not about being crude per se, it's about single-handedly employing crudeness in a relationship that has an unequal power balance resulting in people feeling threatened or uncomfortable. That's different to mates on WattsApp where there's usually an equal power balance.Chippycafc said:

As for exchanging porn on WattsApp, I don't know about you, but it's not something that happens in the groups I'm in. Perhaps your mates are all a bit racier than mine.7 -
The cancel culture is a feature of modern day society. There are both moral and legal lines that shouldn't be crossed, the latter of which may give rise to criminal charges. As for others, sympathy for victims, and if trial by the court of public opinion leads to the celebrity being cancelled, not much they do about the damage to their reputation. I'm not defending whatever Wallace is alleged to have done btw. Don't like him. Never have. Never will.
Edit. Found some of the memes funny when they appeared and I make no apologies for that.0 -
If Wallace made crude comments to his mates in a pub where he knew the audience there of course wouldn't be an issue and nobody would be the wiser. Where it troubles a lot of people is where he made women, some of whom were in a vulnerable position uncomfortable/scared. Not with the odd comment that was misjudged or slipped out but with repeated comments and actions. That isn't wokism but more common sense surely. It is about knowing where the line is and that line isn't always in the same place. In a workplace for instance, that line is obviously much lower. I can't get my head around how some can't see that. Is it woke to think about where our comments and actions land and what affect they might have on somebody?11

I've closed this thread for cleaning. Will re-open if and when there's any significant news.4
