Just looked at the set list that was posted earlier. There's maybe a handful of bands in the history of the world that wouldn't kill for a set list like that. Must have been amazing!

As @McBobbin said earlier in the thread, they could have left out everything in their setlist and filled it with other songs from the back catalogue - and still smashed it. So I would argue there are no other bands in history that could say that!
Finally got to see the Stones at l'OM's ground at the Velodrome, Marseille on Tuesday night.
Only found out about the gig from other passengers on the plane on Tuesday afternoon, while going to join my lady who is working in Marseille. After landing, texted her to say I'd arrived and joked about going to see the Stones. "No, sorry", was her reply.
When we got back to her place at 7pm, we checked on line and saw there were still a handful of tickets available - we got last minute prices at 43 Euros + VAT each. No time to make dinner so we left straightaway, got in and found the tickets were for the Pit B, right in front of the stage!
With 60,000 people in the stadium there was an electrifying sense of anticipation. Down at the front the sound was pretty decent for a football ground gig and the whole show was amazing, considering the age of the band - how Jagger has the energy to strutt his stuff for 2 hours, I don't know.
Can't believe how we got lucky at the last minute - especially when found we'd got normally priced €287 tickets so cheaply!
What a fabulous day that was! Just 20, there with my mates, scorching hot summer of ‘76. Lynyrd Skynyrd totally amazing, 10cc classy and the Stones in good form after a bit of a wait- they looked a lot younger then, but didn’t we all! I even had hair half way down my back. Not even enough hair for @paulie8290 highlights now lol Happy memories

I probably should have mentioned that you could earlier this week have poked tickets for £19 to see them at a tiny venue in London on 11 December. Unfortunately I am in Ireland with an ex watching snow patrol so couldn’t go

Somewhat understated - that should read - 'They became the greatest band of all time'.
