Thanks to all those that completed my mini survey, what comes across loud and clear is that the vast majority who did not receive their ticket renewed early.
Just hope they haven't sold some of them twice.
Still haven't received a ticket by post, doubt the club even sent it,probably don't even know how many they have sold. Complete and utter shambles.
That may well be the case but I suspect that most season tickets were sold early due to the price discount.
Seems like common sense has prevailed and the ticket office is extending their hours tomorrow and Saturday before the game.
Credit where credit is due, but this has been a monumental f**k up and one which has put the club and its senior management in very bad light.
But its all paid up customers who will probably be there regardless. The fans get messed about no end and the management will get away with it because it has upset the people who have paid for every game already.Thats the annoying thing.
Agreed mate. I'll be one of those paid up customers getting there early on Saturday morning to queue despite paying in April.

I think it's a cunning plan that anyone and everyone who has slagged off KM or RD over the last 18 months has to re-apply for their missing season ticket this season!

I've got mine so that can't be it...........I'd of been the first, bolded & underlined on that list
I honestly ain't having it that all were sent out. I think they don't know what we're and weren't.
Now this means I'm going to have to get down early tomorrow to pick mine up and this will mean @rothko is going to have to come early with me despite already having his as he's getting a lift with me.
Only? If you're the one affected it is a big deal, the issue does not need diminishing.
Totally agree with you. The article states A Charlton spokesman said there had been teething problems but only hundreds were affected and they would be able to pick up replacement tickets before the game
It's made Charlie Sale's column in the Mail today. Charlton claim it has only affected hundreds. No mention of blaming the Royal Mail
Charlton season-ticket holders are in uproar claiming there are thousands of them who have yet to receive their passes ahead of tomorrow's opening game at home to QPR.
This follows the club having to upgrade their turnstile equipment after moving to a card-entry system.
A Charlton spokesman said there had been teething problems but only hundreds were affected and they would be able to pick up replacement tickets before the game.
Eight hundred, plus another eight hundred, plus another eight hundred...would be twenty four hundreds*. Roland is a maths guy, perhaps he has thought this one up.
*(no idea myself of the figures)
Imagine if it is only one person.
That person might live in Tonbridge, might have paid for their ticket to have a smooth ride with going to the footie, might have paid in March or April to be sure that things go well even sourcing the dosh up front which was a little bit awkward for them, might rely on public transport to get to the Valley, might have domestic responsibilities that means that time is tight and they can just about get away from home at 12.30 on a Saturday. Might not have time to sit on an expensive phone line to chase it all up, might have to make arrangements domestically to leave earlier than usual tomorrow, might have lunch or other arrangements disrupted, might have to join a long slow queue tomorrow to be greeted by a terse and stressed person at the window.
I have tried to describe a relatively mild level of disruption for a fan here. Then multiply that kind of thing by 'hundreds'.
The season ticket sale was promoted by this:
Who is it better for? This summer it has been worse.
Well not entirely, it has been better for the club to have two million pounds come in over the Summer to help with cash flow, better than not having it anyway. And together? It looks as if the club have been very reluctantly obliged to extend hours in the ticket office at the final hurdle, after saying you can collect from 1pm on Saturday.
If we get a home FA cup tie I expect all season ticket holders to get free entry to compensate, they can use an algorithm to calculate how much that would have been in order to square it with the opposition and the FA.
I got 16 season tickets through - anyone not go theirs yet?

And STILL l nothing after post was delivered today. So that's 2 ST sent and neither have turned up. Address was confirmed as correct on Wednesday before 2nd one sent. IF I can get through I might just say give me my money back I won't bother coming anymore. I probably won't say that though :-)

well, my Mum spoke to them Tuesday and they said they would post it out that night and lo and behold it arrived Wednesday. The post in this country is shocking so I wouldn't necessarily blame the Club in this instance BC (although I would for the initial season ticket post out as I still havn't received that one yet).
Thankfully I received mine on Friday and understand that the fault could be with Royal Mail but for the amount of money that fans have paid for their tickets its a shame that they've only been sent standard First Class.
Surely when most of us have paid between £200 - £400 they should be going out Recorded Delivery so that they're signed for etc...
Just spent an hour at the ticket office (yes, they only had 2 windows open FFS!!).
And guess what.....their system has crashed.
They couldn't give me new season tickets but have given me paper tickets for tomorrow. They said the new season tickets would be sent out next week after the Dagenham & Redbridge game. Whilst this is not ideal, it's better than nothing and means I won't have to get down the Valley too early tomorrow.
The very nice young lady in the ticket office was very apologetic and said sorry a number of times. She also said that it was 1,500 people that have been affected (not hundreds of thousands as you'd believe if you read twitter or CL )
These things happen I suppose and whilst it was a minor inconvenience to get down there this morning and queue up, if my season tickets arrive before the Hull game I am happy to forgive and forget.

Having to pick up the 3rd version tomorrow now. The coach won't get there untill 2pm so a good mate is picking the ticket up for me in the morning (I Hope)

15% of season tickets have gone missing. I'd say that's a pretty big number.
Given that we can print our own tickets now, was there no way that they could have just e-mailed tickets to season ticket holders to print and gain access and then send season tickets later? This would have been far more convenient. We have a hi-tech new entry system but still have to trot down to the ground to collect physical tickets.

If the club offered the option, would you pay an extra couple of quid to ensure your season ticket was sent recorded delivery or should this be the case anyway based on how much they cost in the first place?
Has anyone got their Valley Express season ticket yet?
Still no news from the club about it and just got to hope we can turn up and get on without any problems.
no, nothing yet. Thankfully I have the number of our coach steward whom I rang and he said that when he get's the list from the Club if I wasn't on it then he'd put me on it. Unless this info is now on the season ticket cards which sounds possible but if so then why not relay this info. If not then it wasn't reliant on the testing that the new system required and so why couldn't these have been sent weeks ago?

I certainly would, although I can imagine this would cause a lot of extra work for the ticket office staff.
