If I am manager of a business and have an important business deal to seal with old clients, I don't send the graduates to complete it because I'm scared that my main associates may come back with a cold... So why would you in football?5

Clutching and straws come to mind2

As I've got older I've rarely got angry about Charlton stuff. Circumstance and age really. I missed the kick off because of Selhurst being a dive, I didn't mind. I got covered in beer and laughed it off. We had potential for trouble with the cops and I avoided any frustration by leaning on a wall.
But Luzon's team selection has pissed me right off, and that explanation didn't dissuade me from being annoyed at him one bit.14 -
Jimmy you are talking a lot of sense tonight.7
-
I'm tired of Luzon, he's been here too long
Edit: I probably said this before his "interview" to be fair4 -
Bollocks
Biggest game of it season and he bottled it
Good on all the fans going to Cardiff massive respect but this was bigger and he bottled it

Agreed with Jimmy - Just got home and the only thing really pissing me off is Luzon's team selection.2

This was a game for the fans and it would have been nice if a full team was put out. BUT not many teams do that nowadays, we have to be realistic.Southendaddick said:Bollocks

Pick your strongest team and have a proper go. Birmingham did it at Villa last night and came out of the game with credit despite losing 0-1. Why couldn't we? Bringing JBG, Watt and Kashi on in the second half, is surely as much of an injury risk as playing them from the start?

He has put massive pressure on himself now on Saturday. To him that means more, if we don't win what will be the reasoning/excuse10
-
we're a boring Belgian experiment , no chance of any excitement here , move on11

Disappointing line up but not unexpected. We needed our strongest 11 all on their game but that was never going to happen given the injury situation and threadbare squad where too much reliance s being placed on kids. Presumably Diarra is now suspended for Cardiff, gutted.0

Got to win on Saturday,,no excuses.2
-
Luzon, you have just done a very stupid thing.
You were just about winning over 99% of fans. Now you have pissed off many fans, including me.
Lose on Saturday and you are going to look a complete p***k.

Who cares about cardiff, it might be the difference between finishing 15th or 16th... This was the biggest game of our season and only the fans cared.
If you want to build a club that is loved by its fans you have to respect derbies, if you take the piss out of them they won't thank you for it.16 -
Depleted squad at the momentMendonca In Asdas said:Got to win on Saturday,,no excuses.

Eh I'm not that fussed about the selection, but the players who were selected were far too naive in their play. Pumping the ball up to KAG and McAleny played right into Hangelands massive frame, and any play through the midfield was quickly stifled by Bergdich's mazy runs into cul de sacs and Ba's ponderous nature in possession. I would have probably played Kashi and JBG instead of Ba and Kennedy, but the fact of the matter is we need to arrest the slide down the table, and a win against Palace, whilst great in the short term for bragging rights and folklore, does nothing to help our league position.
Playing out strongest XI wouldnt have swayed the ref any closer to us anyway5 -
Both Luzon and Meire claimed within a short time of arriving that they had become Charlton fans. Did not see much evidence of that tonight.6

Was the ref really the problem? Bad control and clumsy challenges, piss poor distribution and glaring errors undid is way more than any refereeing decisions.sam3110 said:Eh I'm not that fussed about the selection, but the players who were selected were far too naive in their play. What annoys me (other than @colin1961 tonight) is that 2900 people paid good money and gave up their time to see a decent team put out against a Prem league side, instead we got a second rate team sent out in the main. If we needed t restore confidence, what better way than to give a prem division club a run for their money (even with a 12th man)? Beyond me completly6

1 pen to us should have been given, before the 2 for them shouldnt have been. Imagine we score that penalty, where the match could have gone from there. I'm not disagreeing that some of our players weren't up to scratch today, but like I said a win against Palace does nothing for our league position, but we get clouded by the local derby. If today was against West Brom or Swansea, no-one would have given much of a shit, but because its Palace, everyone's overreacting to the loss. We lost to a team in the league above us, away from home, with a dodgy ref and half our team missing through injury.2

It was a cup game, not a friendly. I thought being in the cup was worth the effort.4

Bit strange no mention of JJ ?1

Meire had never set foot in SE7 before she was appointed{of this I am certain} and I'm sure her backside will not be on a seat again once she leaves the club.Weegie Addick said:Both Luzon and Meire claimed within a short time of arriving that they had become Charlton fans. After some how getting to HT 0-0. That was the time to throw on Watt, kashi and JBG. what ever can go wrong, will go wrong against Palace or Millwall.
2 red card and 3 pens now in our last visits to the Den and Sainsburys.
that roller coaster seems to be heading south again.1 -
Fuming. Finding out the lineup before heading into the ground put me in a bad mood.
Luzon - you have f'd this one up BIG TIME. Pulling a stunt like this means we had better get a result at Cardiff.4
