Sky have confirmed the Ocon - Doohan swap. Apparently Ocon wants to do the post season test with Haas so Alpine aren't bothered about running him
Button and Crofty alluded to the Hamilton one as well, both saying they really hope he is in the car in Abu Dhabi, no chance of them even mentioning it unless it was a possibility
  • Ocon now official, Alpine have said it's to allow him to test with Haas in the post season test.

Not an expert here by any means but seems an odd reason. Surely Sainz would have to not race for Ferrari too by that logic?

I think it's a relationship that's been on a slippery slope since Monaco and both sides are happy to mutually go their separate ways. Big risk in the constructors to throw Doohan in though when they can still be overtaken by Haas and even VCARB.

Perfect for them though, if he messes up they blame him and kick him to the kerb after one race, and bring in Colapinto instead. (Who even if he's fast crashes A LOT, as Williams now know with 16 crashes between their drivers this season)
  • Nice to see that the FIA are intent on improving things:

Top moves from the FIA there. Really bringing integrity and transparency to the sport.
  • Carry on like this and I could see a splinter calendar starting to be floated

needs a breakaway, but unfortunately all the circuits will be tied to FIA.
  • I wonder how long before a GPDA strike? It's clear the drivers have lost faith in the FIA under MBS and MBS is trying to tighten his grip on the sport with his nonsense.

The drivers have no real muscle, self interest will always win out, and theres always others ready to take their place. Its only the teams, the manufacturers, Tv, and Sponsors who will influence it.

This is one occasion where Max could actually do something useful with his 'I don't give a fuck' attitude. Tell MBS to fuck off and threaten to walk out if he doesn't. How good does the sport look if the world champ and, arguably, main attraction is telling the president to do one?

well he's definitely not the main attraction on this thread.

Saw MBS state today that he'd been put through hell and back over the eleventh team in F1

Shows the kind of man that he is, that even Satan didnt want to keep him

Its a dangerous sign as to how the Middle East can easily ruin more Sport, what with LivGolf already out there, wont be surprised if they try and completely purchase Football one day either - MBS's latest reply to the GDPA of: "Your the Drivers, get and do your job of driving" - Erm yes, that is true... But without the drivers, you dont have a Sport you f**king idiot!!
  • The ONLY sway anyone has in reality is someone like Ferrari upping sticks

I think Lewis is the only driver with the clout to try this with how big he is outside the sport too. Anyone else the FIA would find a way to deal with
  • Like let's be honest, Aston Martin is Saudi owned essentially, Bahrain owns McLaren and now Qatar owns Audi, I'd be surprised if any of those rock the boat in any way. Mercedes and Toto are too invested, literally, no-one will care about Haas fucking off, same as RB, and they won't go anywhere because with Red Bull they are 20% of the grid but need the F1 exposure. Williams are the same as Haas, ultimately they don't matter, and Alpine are halfway gone anyway.

Hadjar in at VCARB next season the way that the Colapinto rumours have dried, and now this by the looks of things...

If so he's come out of no where to really get a seat for 2025!!

  • I mean if he wins the title in the end this weekend, there's nowhere else to go for him really, unless he takes over the Super Formula drive from Iwasa

Been reading that Red Bull dont have the links to Super Formula anymore.

Dont think it matters if he wins the title or not either, dont see him staying around at Campos as Lindblad's team mate for a third season.

Think he'll either end up as an F1 Driver, or an F1 Reserve Driver

Hadjar and Lawson/Tsunoda would be a spicy combo for Laurent Mekkies to manage!

I still think whoever is in the second VCARB could be a one and done if Lindblad is strong in F2.

Yeah could be an interesting show down between Hadjar and Lawson if its them in VCARB as neither are exactly experienced - As Lindblad is definitely their next golden child - Do hope that Yuki ends up with the Red Bull seat as he deserves at least a chance there

I know we've still got one more race left, but f**k the racing based on the Press Conferences today, what with the drama between Russell and Verstappen - They just need to televise a showdown between those two, and it'll be more interesting.

And now Toto is back after Horner too. Absolute chaos and I'd love to see the whole Red Bull team taken down a few pegs.
  • Can’t blame Russell for what he said though

No... Especially if Max has threatened to put Russell in the wall, thats taking after Daddy for sure with that attitude

If Max has physically threatened to put George in the wall then the FIA and Red Bull need to do something about it. Throw the book at him for once.

Haha... Red Bull do something about it... thats a good one

Of course they won't because he's been mollycoddled his entire career and no one has ever stood up to him bar Lewis. The likes of Horner and Marko and GP are part of this too.

Wouldn't care if he walked away from the sport tomorrow.

Wouldnt be surprised if he did walk away from the Sport, if he decided Red Bull were doing shit, rather than go elsewhere.

Can't see another team kissing his arse like Red Bull do... and he wont like being told that he's wrong

Can tell how pissed Russell is too from this: - GIF - Imgur
