71' Sub: Triallist Montell Moore replaces Pigott. #cafc

Talented player but with some issues...

However, his off the pitch activities cast a new light on Moore's talent as he was arrested for handling stolen goods, driving without a licence and driving without insurance. He pleaded guilty to the latter charges and was convicted for handling stolen goods.

According to Louis Mendez - Montell Moore (mentioned earlier) the triallist is a product of the Brentford academy. #cafc

I'm not sure if Piggott has progressed sadly, but the number 10 was pretty impressive and the squad was very fit and pacey. 2 very well taken goals too.

Special shout out for Bromley's number 5 - very vocal and commanding, lead their defence very well too.

Overall a really enjoyable evening actually. Living pretty much at the end of the road this was my first trip; very good prices, incredibly friendly staff and a nice relaxed atmosphere.

Mikhail Kennedy should at least be in the squad for Rotherham, very, very impressed first half. Second half was a non-event as we knew it was game over.
  • Charlton have drawn Ebbsfleet in the Semi, shame Roland & Katrien won't go, they could meet Peter Varney......

Will Varney be wearing one those combination replica shirts, half Charlton, half Ebsfleet...

The wind and rain spoiled it as a game.

Goal kicks were blown backward and passes went astray.

Bromley were bigger but we were sharper, scoring with our first two efforts after neat moves.

Pope did well in the weather, defence was strong. Forwards saw little of the ball, Kennedy MOTM in a central role.

Fox as there as was Erroll, Jose, Wim and Jason.

Game fizzled out so much that my departure was seen as noteworthy.

    On to the semifinal.

Peter Varney, we're coming for you.
  • That's the 2nd game Charlton have had in this season's tournament, where the weather could be described as "Yeovil-esque"

If anything, the weather against Hythe was even worse!

I was impressed with the Bar, Screens everywhere,Happy staff,
Phone charging points, a good ambience, on a night when only
Ranulph Fiennes and folk who don't like Soap operas and semi finals of league cups over two legs would venture out.

Sat in the VIP area, where the press boys, young and old,
Louis Mendez and Peter Burroughs, current head honcho, Jose Riga and coach Jason Euell, Morgan Fox,Henry Irving and 24 Premier scouts were watching from. (stayed dry)

    In the 1st 20 minutes two flowing moves with lots of neat quick touches and having supporting players in the area resulting in 2 well worked goals;
For CAFC ! Kennedy ran the show in the First half, Maybe he felt he was still playing in The wet green land of Ireland. The U21 unlike the CAFC 1st team play with lots of confidence despite the fact that new players come in and out of the team.

The second half, Bromley had a couple of Good chances, when 1st Thomas
who had a good night made the mandatory mistake by a CAFC CB, but this time the forward went for power over placement and the chance went begging. a good save by pope and another cleared off the line by a defender saw off Bromley, and in last 10 minutes the game was already over.

If only the 1st team could emulate the U21.

    Wet Wet Wet

    Love is all around.

  • Out of interest, who's in the other Semi Final?
