Doesn't the £10k per week mean for the whole club?
That is what I thought, but local papers are reporting thats what he's on. Hoping he will draw in a crowd and help them win promotion. They had to pay over the odds to get him to sign apparently? The new owner is exceptionally wealthy and a bit of a nutter so I understand......sounds familiar.
Aims to be in League 1 within 5 years? Personally, dont see it as Billericay is well wedged between Southend and West Ham 'supporter belts' so will never attract big crowds.
Slightly off topic. Billericray, one of my favourite grounds. Lived on Canvey in the 80s and refereed there many times during my period on the Diadora/Isthmian leagues. Once refereed a charity game there between the 1970s Chelsea cup winning side and a local Sunday team (Lee Chapel North from Basidon) that had won the National Sunday Cup. I was asked to undertake an exhibition with my border collie at half time (300 plus spectators). Ben (the collie) was able to dribble a football, head a football (our record was nine time back and forth without the ball touching the ground), and he would leave the field of play when I displayed a red card. For part of the exhibition, I got the kids on the field of play, put Ben on the goal line and asked the kids to take a penalty (actually flick the ball in the air towards the goal so that Ben could head out the ball. We collected a further £80 as a result of this exhibition, for the charity in mind. Jimmy Greaves kicked off the game -his youngest of two sons played for Lee Chapel North. Happy days!
He'll likely get bored in a couple of years time. Is he going to want to keep pumping in 10k a week (which will be even more if they make the National league) if they're only getting crowds of around 1-2k.
I live in Billericay and have friends that support them, but this is the first I have heard of Billericay FC becoming the Man City of the non league world.
The crowds are only a few hundred at best so I guess the owner will be losing as much as Roland does each season.

If candyfloss is sticky
If it is just for him, then it will definitely not end well.
Konch will have retired by the summer.
