I'm sure we'll hear a full account of their 'chat'....
One or two posters expressing their surprise that squirrel face is still brave enough to walk around alone before the game.
LOL! Look at all the goons in the picture of squirrel face confronting Airman standing just behind her in their blue hi-viz jackets in case anyone should actually say to her face what we would all love to say to her!
She's about as brave as a Palace Ultra confronted by anyone over the age of 12.
May I suggest that all those on here that thought the masks were either silly, childish, abusive etc please tell us all their ideas for the next protest. It's all very well saying "I'll protest but don't need to be told how to do it" but in all fairness that's not true is it.
Otherwise you'd never have known to turn up behind the west stand in the first place.
In an ideal world all 3000 invited children would have been wearing those masks, which were actually designed to take the piSs out the the person who invited them. That's my take on it, I maybe wrong?

Boycott. Give them a taste of what next season will be like if they don't fuck off....i.e. empty stadium, no ticket revenue, not appealing to sponsors etc.
Grown men in fancy dress were laughed at today by the regime. Hit them where it hurts in the pocket.

Do people actually think that most of the players give a shit? Maybe apart from Jackson and one or two more, better players will be of. Disrupt the game,ok maybe not run on the pitch but use whistle's so the game will have to be stopped,we are going down so even if we did get a 3 point deduction then why would that matter.

I actually started a Boycott thread about 2 months ago and still think it will happen. What worries me now is that the regime wouldn't mind it. I am convinced that they want as low a crowd as possible I order to justify closing/developing part of the ground or even moving to a smaller ground.
Swerved the match but spent 5 hours travelling to a much emptier car park than last time and likely to be less as time goes on. Can't agree with dick plumb that endless 5pm protests will win. CARD rightly are mixing things up to keep media interested. The council will be onto KM moaning about extra policing. She will be paying for more stewarding, barriers etc.
Personally after today we are down. 2 London away games and that is probably it for me, barring these pages, until they are gone. See how they like supporting a £2m academy and 27k capacity stadium with 5k crowds and L1 income. Their vision for the future will be a door with exit above.
We need smoke bombs and the like (no flairs however!) ... Let's make it a visual spectacle, with thousands singing etc- not just a few masks etc. it needs to be like a Mardi Gras/Notting hill festival against the board and owner! It will get So much more publicity and look impressive!
Need to be power paint thrown around and thrown at the main entrance , plenty of flags waving and banners held aloft... We've got 2 weeks - lets organise something that will hit them visually as well as publicly!
Ok fair enough mate, I get that for food boycotts, not a load of kids wearing masks.
I don't know the answer to your question, and probably don't have a right as I didn't contribute but certainly the banners that got so much publicity at Rotherham would be a better spend than masks, in my opinion.
I have been mulling over what might be worth considering for future protests. I have asked myself some questions and as a starting point tried to go against a bit of the 'received assumptions'
First of all is the aim of future protests to get publicity and get the word out there by mass demonstrations?
It is possible, as companies house gate has shown to get publicity as a lone individual, and even with no publicity at all it seems evident that the resignation thing annoyed the regime.
The regime have also been annoyed by online stories like the laundry basket legend, and had antennae up for just about everything, hiring police and security when not needed, and creating an iron curtain at the Valley for Rolands visit, and have anxiety about protest spreading to Sparrows Lane so I read on here. Indeed anxiety levels have been high up from early last November if Henry was back then accused of 'inciting a riot'! And amusingly today when (if you will indulge a bit of poetic licence) we had Airman and Katrien engaged in comeandhaveagoifyouthinkyou'rehardenoughgate!
Maybe now the protest needs to grow a bit into more precise stuff. I think that there is clearly going to be a seminal moment at season ticket time, but an idea suggested before that Charlton Athletic's data manager is obliged to supply us with what data they have, then updated it en mass like we all want our middle names added/taken off, and then demonstrating to us they have complied.
We could target a particular time to all phone in to order multiple tickets, and after getting right up to card details simply say 'sorry I've just seen my calendar, I've changed my mind, no can do'.
Sparrows Lane is more contentious because it looks like somehow getting at the team, but it would be getting at the team when we have a pitch invasion or tennis balls thrown on, and sparrows lane has a lot of surrounding vantage points, as well as the main gate of course, from which points can be put across. Especially with megaphones.
I would also suggest that documenting, and photographing and filming stuff that can be readily disseminated would be effective in all protest areas of enterprise.
Faxing each department fax number with sheets of black paper is a good method of disruption which is an easy, ahem, mistake to make.
I suppose i'm saying that maybe somehow we don't look to make the big photo opportunity any more, but keep the regime guessing enough to not be sure what is real and what is not, and what might happen next.
I am not sure a boycott, or car park protests would be entirely successful as the regime can spin those events as much as CARD can.
I don't know much about these things, but the financial report will be open to scrutiny, and there ought to be a lot of opportunity to highlight concerning areas there for all to see.
Matters that involve local authority consent, or action, or response seems to also be an opportunity of some sort, not that I really know what that would be.
I imagine that's it for any more club/fan meetings, at least this season. Maybe the Trust Board are still able to have dialogue, Valley Gold too, the Target 20,000 group, and of course the Fans Forum, but at the moment I'm working on the assumption that these avenues are now dead for the rest of this season at least.
The protests need to be flexible enough to be unpredictable, and there is a slight danger that they are getting easier to predict and (albeit pathetically) counter.

Not all of us were men. I am a 'grown woman' (the short one with the long nose) and if you laughed at us then good - don't you think that was the point?

interesting that you picked up on that because that is exactly what happened. As soon as the chat with Airman got a little heated, a couple of blue viz arrived and pretty much ushered her away.

I'm not part of the regime. They were the ones laughing at it as evidenced by meire chuckling away as if it was some kind of fun day as people took selfies next to her whilst wearing a mask. They'll keep laughing as long as people keep paying them.

Apologies RCT I see you said laughed at by the regime. I think the regime pretends to laugh but it's also very bothered by us as we wont go away until they do.
Comments
Throwing towels on the pitch before a mass walk out would be good. Plenty of media attention from that I would imagine.

I just meant in general at some of the comments I had read!

Surely if you want to do the gimmicky stuff it's best to announce it as early as possible so others might want to join in.
Personally I think the boycott of catering etc was good, the support the team banner good and the post Forest protest good.
But CARD must have spent thousands on banners, masks and beermats and I'm not sure if there might be better ways to use people's hard earned..
When the money dries up I'm not convinced you will find it easy to replace
So what are the 'better ways to spend people's hard earned' in your view? (serious question)
