May I suggest that all those on here that thought the masks were either silly, childish, abusive etc please tell us all their ideas for the next protest. It's all very well saying "I'll protest but don't need to be told how to do it" but in all fairness that's not true is it. .
Boycott. Give them a taste of what next season will be like if they don't fuck off....i.e. empty stadium, no ticket revenue, not appealing to sponsors etc.
Grown men in fancy dress were laughed at today by the regime. Hit them where it hurts in the pocket.
Not all of us were men. I am a 'grown woman' (the short one with the long nose) and if you laughed at us then good - don't you think that was the point?
I'm not part of the regime. They were the ones laughing at it as evidenced by meire chuckling away as if it was some kind of fun day as people took selfies next to her whilst wearing a mask. They'll keep laughing as long as people keep paying them.
Apologies RCT I see you said laughed at by the regime. I think the regime pretends to laugh but it's also very bothered by us as we wont go away until they do.
If you had seen the way that KM went for Airman you would know that she and the regime are very much rattled.

Looking forward to hearing more about that exchange.
can someone on here explain why the announcement needs to be at 12pm?
Surely if you want to do the gimmicky stuff it's best to announce it as early as possible so others might want to join in.
Personally I think the boycott of catering etc was good, the support the team banner good and the post Forest protest good.
But CARD must have spent thousands on banners, masks and beermats and I'm not sure if there might be better ways to use people's hard earned..
When the money dries up I'm not convinced you will find it easy to replace
They have not spent thousands on gimmicks. It's "beer money" for lots of little digs. I'm glad you haven't contributed to the fund as I would feel bad then. But you carry on moaning.
For those of you that have contributed please do let me know if you're upset.
Well done all involved. And thank you to those handing me money in the car park. Especially you @harveys gardener .
But After the Pinocchios, ME14 owned that demo! She's my new heroine along with ArseneTatters. Great women.
Learn something there KM.
Cheers. Onwards and upwards guys. X
Thank you @Curb_It - I'm glad I could do a little bit. I've always fully supported the protesters without being able to protest myself as I have to look after my Dad. I've had some pretty black looks whilst wearing my black and white scarf in the corridors.
I'm not a whinger, I just don't think it is right to 'confront' people in the street or in public but as I said it is just my opinion, maybe I am a just a little 'old fashioned'. I don't necessarily want to fall out with anyone.
I'm only just reading about the days events and I can promise you this: the only two bits of aggression I witnessed the whole day (and I was there from 1pm to 6pm) were:
1. Katrien having a go at Rick. Don't be fooled by the usual smile, she was furious. She was the one doing the confronting, no-one else. Great news, we are getting to the lying, incompetent idiot that she is.
2. 5 fat wankers I'm ashamed to call Charlton fans who advised me (at a safe distance of course, walking away and not responding when I yelled after them) to stuff the stickers up my arse.
Every one of the CARD volunteers handing stuff out was brilliant; the 5pm protest was loud, focused but well-behaved; the heroes who donned Pinocchio outfits were fantastic.

i contributed and I have no problem with what they did today - satire is a good old English way of making your point.
Have read elsewhere disappointment from the usual loudmouths that the fans are not smashing the place up and assaulting people left, right and centre - always easy to call on this from behind a keyboard. Suspect those urging others to break the law on their behalf would run like crazy at the first sign of any bother.
She really had nothing to say except a rather strange idea that I might be worried about speaking to her face to face. I'm guessing that the background to this is that I don't routinely cross the road, stand in her way or shout at her when she arrives at work four hours after her staff, which is quite true. I usually ignore her, indeed I don't always notice her.
The reason I don't confront her is that I think it both could and would appear aggressive - and provide the opportunity for her to play the victim, which she's very good at. I'm not playing that game, thanks.
She did exactly the right thing today by embracing the protest (accepting a sticker and a mask) and approaching me was no doubt also part of showing she wasn't affected by it. I'm sure she'd given it a lot of thought, but ask yourself why she was coming over to me when she actually had nothing to say.
I asked her some questions about why she will only speak to handpicked fans and cannot appear in front of them without surrounding herself with other staff, which she didn't answer. I asked her why she has never been willing to engage with the people who ran the club for 15 years and why she is so frightened of speaking to Varney, who she sneered at.
At that point two of the hovering goons intervened and indicated I wasn't allowed to continue, although as it was the street it was nothing to do with them. With hindsight I'd probably have played it differently, but then unlike Katrien I hadn't spent the last hour planning it.
May I suggest that all those on here that thought the masks were either silly, childish, abusive etc please tell us all their ideas for the next protest.
People are allowed to say what they think about today's protest even if they don't agree. It's called having an opinion. That's what forums like CL are all about. I didn't think today's idea was great or a good use of funds but I'm fully behind what CARD is doing. Just because someone might not agree with the form of protest it doesn't automatically mean they have come up with a better idea. Don't shoot people down just because they might disagree. Rant over
You can't please all the people all the time......
Some think CARD are going too slowly and softly softly but this is going to be a long fight. You just don't deploy all your weapons in the first skirmishes. You also have to remember that a lot of the fans protesting are dead against disrupting the game, violence or other forms of disorder, or even any form of in-game protest.
The trick here is for CARD to take the majority of fans with them, those already protesting and those (still a sizeable number) who think protests are a waste of time. That means balancing impact and acceptability, gradually ramping up what is acceptable. Meanwhile there is a lot of work going on behind the scenes to find innovative ways of making our point.
For those on here who think they can do better, go ahead. Really. Banging out the war drums on here is the very easy part.
@Curb_it has already said it, but to support that, if anyone who has contributed to the protest fund so far thinks we have wasted their money, please do contact us. If today has put off anyone who was planning to donate, then sorry but have a think about what i've said on here. And finally, anyone moaning on here who hasn't contributed at all - well, sorry, but I don't think you have any say in the matter.
Absentee contributor and full on arsey feminist. No problems at all with calling her a liar as that is what she is. There was no intimidation, no bullying so don't see the problem. Eye catching protest that engaged a younger set of supporters which is more than the football has done! . Well done CARD.
The message has to keep being sent, however that may be. @CARD we have to look at liverpools impact of doing something during a game within the stadium. This surely has to be the next step.
A mass walk out in the 2nd minute?
Fans holding black and white scarves whilst backs mare turned at some point?
Not entering the seating area of the stadium until a certain point in the game?
Continuous "RD out" chants for the first 5 minutes of the game?
Just some thoughts off the top of my head..
The more media attention the further the message spreads, the more pressure on RD.
Of course CARD are going to receive sniping from the usual suspects, remember when the Trust was formed? They had some very unhelpful comments on here from people who should really know better but couldn't hide their jealousy because they hadn't set it up. We know who is who but let people air their views. It's great that so many have raised so much money, but many real fans simply cannot afford to donate to such causes; however worthwhile they believe the efforts of CARD are. So please let's not dig out our own who may not agree with all of the tactics employed by CARD, especially with the comments like How much have you given? Or, What are your ideas? Surely that is not what The Charlton we all want back is about?

She even had to create a conversation with The Oracle.

But Lifers should also acknowledge YOUR part in proceedings.
(BTW I managed to distribute those beer mats in Crossbars without any probs.)

Personally I still think my idea of spending the cash on a massive belgian waffle was a good one .........
;-)
Classic!
We will be building up to the Brussel sprouts. Boiled or raw??

Has it been disclosed? If so I missed it.
On the whole, quite predictable who the snipers are - those who fail to put their money or energy where their mouths are.
