So who has lied here? RD or Powell? Hmmm, let me think for a moment about who is the most believable.
Plus really good to hear about the £1M spent on the pitch. Two years after buying us and still bleating on about it as though this is significant.
Any cost was factored into the purchase price as if the work had not been done we would not have fulfilled any fixtures and the fines would have out weighed the cost!

This week's instalments should at least give the protesters some decent soundbites and some ammunition. Shows a strategy full of holes, a lack of understanding about football in general and very clear double standards.
The very sad thing is that they view community engagement as getting a transient group through the doors, in numbers, every week. To spend money. They don't view community engagement as it should be, and the very successful model with which Charlton has been synonymous.
I do think the he said/he said thing with Powell is a red herring. Even if it is proved either way, it's a lose lose situation and won't unsack him, or change our current plight. We all have our views and won't agree. Focus on the now.9 -

But when the FFP rules changed Roland made no attempt to change his business plan. He can't just go on as he did before and moan that it's not fair.

Any businessman who has a plan and then finds the plan they had is now out of date due to changes in either legislation or other outside influences that will have a 'major' impact on that said plan, would by nature have a to change it to survive in a competitive market, especially if the 'change' gives fundamental advantage to the competitors. RD clearly is no astute businessman!!2

On the other hand - and let's use the restaurant analogy (again):
One restaurant owner spends a fortune making his restaurant a very pleasant place to be; opens 7 days a week so that people can ring in to book a table; stocks up his cellar with the best wine; buys the best local produce; employs a Michelin-starred chef; top quality waiters; a qualified Sommelier; a Maître d' that knows what the hell they are doing; and has a maximum score under the local council's food hygenine scheme and the all-important linen tablecloths and napkins.
Another has a great venue. But he spends no money on decent food and drink; no one ever answers the phone or looks at emails; the chef is just out of college; the waiters don't speak English and don't even unscrew the top off the wine, let alone let it breathe or decant it; the food is so-so; the Maître d' used to be a paralegal and has no relevant skills; the table cloths are plastic while the napkins are paper serviettes and there are mouse droppings everywhere.
