  • Not going to moan too much because its a mandatory defence so he either fights Pulev or gives up the title.

Still on PPV and Pulev won't be on nowhere near the money of the likes of Wlad etc. so if the undercard isn't top top quality then Hearn is taking the piss.

Just seen Parker v (Hughie) Fury world title fight (lol) to be broadcast PPV (lol) at £9.99 (lol) on YouTube (mega lolz)

  • I know there's a lot of mockery about the you tube angle but going forward social media streaming of fights is the future , it is currently used to show small hall fights and there is growing interest from potential sponsors

I am working with two promoters with events planned for 2018 that are getting great interest and in return reducing the investment risk of promoters for putting on fights

It's very hard for people like Mick as he has no tv deal

I would bet that the number of views for this fight will dwarf the itv ppv and the Dave angle that haymaker is going down

Fair enough mate but £9.99 to watch online on the world's biggest free to view platform is a bit rich. Particularly when the calibre of the two combatants is far from world class (albeit they probably are now in a piss poor heavyweight division).

I got rid of my sky sports subscription as only had it for the boxing content but they got greedy and started putting everything as ppv or just had match room one sided snooze fests of (*insert match room idol* vs eastern European journeyman*).

Sacking off ringside which was a great programme was the last straw.

Sympathise with Hennessy's position but boxing is at a real peak of mainstream interest for first time in decades and they need to sort out the economics to make it viable so that perhaps only the real silly good fights eg canelo v GGG are justifiably ppv and fund the rest through sponsorship and advertising to keep it accessible for everyone and viewing numbers up.

  • Eubank won't hurt him I don't think that JR has any sort of power to deter anyone from walking forward , imo this kid is like a very young abraham and he will catch Eubank and either ko or tko him

Bold pick and I can see reasoning for it. I think Eubank has his old man's chin but we shall see. Agree Eubank definitely dosent have one punch power but I think he hits hard enough.
  • can't argue with any of that mate and the 9.99 angle is bollox I am fed up of people charging that fee for ppv when the numbers they get for advertising on the events is going up yet we are getting fleeced more for our entertainment

i think it's more important for Steve woods and steffy bull to be utilising social media steams to get the unknown and new boxers air time

I love the work Kuggan does on I film London tv giving the boxers exposure in a very un edited and fluid way

You get great value from Kuggs not afraid to ask the questions or get access where you want it

MGM (matt Macklin) are really looking into the route to main stream but I think Eddie has his eye on keeping Matt close

It's going to take Mick or a woods and currently Stefy on his hot streak to take a risk and look at how we can get more of the fights people are missing ( some real crackers) into the main stream and that is YouTube I feel personally
    But not the 9.99

I love the nxtgen stuff but it's getting eddies full treatment and very soon there will be a nxtgen ppv trial or fight package on some platform mark my words

Anyone who is into boxing should get to the small hall fights as there are some belters taking place up and down the country and avg 30-40 quid a ticket for 4 hrs of boxing is still great value

Agreed - although not just social media streaming. Moving forwards into the brave new world the likes of SKY, BT and to a lesser extent Box Nation and terrestrial channels are soiling themselves about the risk from the big boys of streaming - Netflix and Amazon Prime. I would hazard a guess that even SKY and BT's crown jewels of the PL and, for BT Champions League will be at risk when the next round of negotiations take place.
  • Netflix is a great shout mate

I hadn't even thought of amazon prime maybe me and you should get our swedes together ha ha

Eddie will need to produce a very good undercard for this fight it's got no value as a contest

Might be a runner! Somebody, somewhere, is going to make a lot of money!

For boxing, hopefully it will be the guys and gals who actually take the punches.
  • Not wrong there mate that's why Mick has gone down the YouTube route imo it's a great tester

Sport bible are already getting big view numbers and offering platform space

The work that Kuggan does is fantastic , the Dillian Whyte ones are killer , they would never get away with that on mainstream tv.

I just IFL would invest in some HD cameras!

The big difference with SR and JR is SR liked getting hit

There's a big difference in what happens to a fighter when hit some love it (believe it or not) some hate it

If you don't mind getting hit and in fact you use it as a gauge on power and strength that the opponent has you go on and adjust your fight accordingly

With JR I see him in the bracket that has a plan of not getting hit and if he does he hides for a bit and that detracts from what he is good at

Against Abraham I saw it at least twice and a younger more agile Abraham would've made more of it

I see the Turk kid as that young Abraham and I expect to walk him down

The big thing for me is that JR is going to many gyms looking at how he can improve on power he has the Frame the guns and the speed but there's something not transferring they know it's a problem

Yeah Froch was one too me who loved getting hit. Great breakdown of eubank I juse think he has something but think I am bit bias. I had him beating Billy Joe at excel. I was there and it was a great fight.

Yeah I can't understand why he can't translate his power as he his ripped, fast and punch form seems good.

Look at Golovkin throwing say a straight right and then look at Junior doing the same. Junior throws a punch with his arm, GGG throws it with his entire body. It's all about technique.

On NLA's point, I agree completely that Junior doesn't like being hit, and when he is he gets very ragged (couple of times against Abrahams). Not sure any boxer likes getting hit, but some don't mind getting hit as they come forward. That's about courage and bravery (and a bit of stupidity!) - Senior had it - not sure Junior does.

P.S. I had Saunders winning a close fight.
  • I had Saunders by two rds

Dillian and Del Boy give me belly laugh moments on IFL I think you also see a different O'Hara Davies on there than the complete bell you see on tv

Be interning to see how much access he gets during the super series seeing as he was banned from AJ vs Klitch

There will be 10's of thousands there maybe even a sell out. 90% of AJ fans have only ever heard of one opponent he has had and that was Wlad. I reckon 50,000 women would turn up to see him fart alone. The blokes numbers are mental whoever he fights. I think Hearn said that AJ v Molina done 700-800,000 ppv buys.
Is that Sarcasm?! It will fill an arena, but the millennium stadium?!

Little know fact, I briefly appear on an IFL video.

    Cardiff v Millwall that day.
  • Hayemaker have just announced an event at Indigo the O2 Friday 20th October. Joe Joyce fighting Ian Lewison amongst some others, decent seats for around £60, will probably have some of that
