Why is the fight off?  I thought terms had been agreed (in the gypsy Kings favour).  He’s very difficult to do business with isn’t he, remembering all the shenanigans with Joshua.

Couldn't agree terms over the rematch. Usyk wanted 70-30 in his favour (basically the reverse of fight one) if he won the first fight. Fury apparently wanted 50-50.

I know it's Fury who brings all the attention, money and PPV's but if you're coming into the second fight as the challenger with no belts v a guy who is undisputed champ, then not sure how you can argue for a 50-50 split.

It's all bullshit, Usyk will now fight Dubois and Fury will probably fight some no hoper.

Fury will obviously still be popular with the casuals but he's becoming a joke. Gave Joshua stupid timelines last year to sign a deal that he knew couldn't be done and now put too many demands on Usyk (most of which he agreed to) that eventually he said fuck this and walked away.

Fury won't care though as he'll still sell out an arena/stadium, beat someone easily, sing a song for the crowd and make millions.

Fury is a wally. Talks about being the best but negotiates his way out of every major fight bar Wilder. Ends up fighting, in his words, dossers and bums.

I personally felt Usyk would beat him but obviously wont know now!

I don't think there ever was an in between phase. He's always been a dickhead. It was others that put him on some weird pedestal.

Yeah I've got some mates that are very much part of the FDL (fury defense league) who are still managing to blame Usyk

Wilder has possibly the most padded record of any heavyweight champion in history as well.

To be fair to Fury, and yes of course it is about money, he probably knows he hasn't got many fights in him and looks at Usyk then Joshua as being his best pay off and probably his finale. Usyk demanding a re-match clause would mess this up to a degree and whilst I think Fury would beat both, there is probably more money in a Fury, Joshua match up. Actually not probably, certainly.

Maybe the fight will still happen as Usyk does have the attraction of having belts.

This is really infuriating, what Fury knows is what a lot of you have eluded to. He has to fight the crossover names and as much as anyone who knows anything about boxing Usyk is not a crossover as much as boxing fans not casuals know Usyk is the most credible opponent, he holds more belts for what they are worth, he decimated the Cruiserweight division and beat Joshua convincingly, twice both away from home. For my money Fury beats him over 12 rounds but Fury won't be able to dick about like the enjoys doing and will get frustrated at points. A good mate of mine is a boxing coach and has personal relationships with lots of active, up and coming and retired fighters. He said something ive long suspected about fighters from travelling stock, specifically Fury and Saunders. They have to really, really fancy it to fight the best and be paid a fortune. Fury already has more money than he could ever spend, he clearly enjoys the occasions of the big fights but his behaviour around this has pissed me off. Sign for the rematch clause, Usyk doesn't have to take it, but get the fight over the line. Then Fury and Joshua have a colossal fight next year to look forward to which truly is a crossover fight and will possibly be the biggest boxing event in history. If he chooses to fight someone like Charr, Helenius etc then he is taking the piss and will continue to do so as long as people buy tickets.

Boxings fascination with 0 losses doesn't help either. If you are fighting the best people a loss is nothing to be worried about, Duran, Leonard, Hagler, Hearns, Benn, Froch, Lewis, Ali all had losses because they fight the best granted a couple of them had losses because they fought on too long but the point remains, look who they lost to and who they fought. Hagler v Hearns would still sell out a 100,000 ticket venue in seconds

Crazy fight just finished on BT.
Andrew Cain v Ionut Baluta, definite contender for fight of the year. Baluta down twice in the first round, but wins by split decision.
Both throwing bombs for the whole fight. How it went ten rounds is beyond me.

Any thoughts on the AJ v Jermaine Franklin fight this weekend?  To quote Seth this surely has to be a “must win” for Joshua.

Be surprised if AJ doesn't easily beat Franklin.

pretty much a make or break for Joshua .. he must win convincingly, not just scrape in on points
