  • The man is a grade A fucking idiot. He was at best a below average heavyweight, he is playing up for cameras and all he is doing is proving to everyone how much of a fucking idiot he is. Bully. Went for the smallest target and showed himself up. The focus for this fight should be the two main men, undefeated heavyweight champions not this clown.

If I was Tyson Fury I would not want this moron anywhere near my camp, team, final preparation.

I heard that almost all rock n roll stars pretend to be drunk and high all the time (maybe in the days of Hendrix but not now) but are in fact teetotaller health freaks. It's all a charade. I was fooled! Those snarling photos of the Gallaghers with can of Tramp strength beer in one hand (with evian inside it!) And a joint (an unlit roll up!) In the other hand! It's all illusion!

It's not quite the same as Garcia here but giving the illusion of being intoxicated is the same. I know I can't play lead guitar unless I'm fully compis mentis and, it transpires, when doing a multi million pound 60 date world tour with huge advertising deals propping you up, neither can anyone else!

While I'm no expert, I'd be very surprised if a sportsbook took a $2m bet.

Not just rock n roll stars.  I remember Dean Martin used to saunter onstage hosting tv shows with slurry speech, cigarette in hand, not having even met those stars he was hosting. Probably just an image thing.

    Ones in Vegas probably will.
  • Bookies here would restrict him to 50p.

Course they would. Mattress Mannis famous for putting big bets on Houston sport - mainly baseball
  • have a look at the picture of the Gallaghers with Maradona and try to tell me they’re faking it.

Yeh, I remember Ollie Reed pretending to be drunk on the Aspel show.

    There are definitely exceptions !

  • 6 months ago I didn't think there was a boxer on the planet who could beat Fury, but as the fight draws closer I have a sneaky feeling Usyk will win.

Hope he knocks John Fury spark out after the fight too for good measure
  • I’m going for Usyk to win 116-112 ish but Fury to get a bs decision.

Steve Bunce reckons that lad from Venus, who reputedly has a vicious upper cut, would beat him 🙄 Why is the world not enough when talking about boxers? I don't think it's necessary to acknowledge that somewhere in our solar system, or the universe, there may be a better boxer than one on this planet. Rant over.
  • Unlike many I want our man to win even if his father leaves a lot to be desired.
  • I think it will be either a Fury masterclass or him falling over his feet and Usyk really getting close to him and working away to his body. No inbetween, can't see it ebbing and flowing. If Fury can't control the distance it will be a long night for him, if he can he will win but it won't be a classic
  • Plenty of questions were asked of Fury after the Ngannou farce where he clearly thought he could just turn up and win easily, which wasn't so. But he looks switched on for this and much fitter than he's done for a very long time. He has to impose his size and reach on Usyk and if he does that i think he wins on points.
  • It will be controversial.

No idea of what will happen,  but I guarantee it will be controversial

Was thinking the same, which way are the bent judges going to lean on this one I wonder.
  • Unless it's really one sided, I can potentially see a draw

As they have signed a two fight contract a draw would set up the second fight perfectly.
  • Usyk win for me. Think he will suss Fury out and get in on the inside with ease in the end. Points win though.

Maybe just me, but I don't think him getting in on the inside will serve him very well. It'll give Fury a chance to smother him, lean all over him and wear him down through pure weight and strength advantage. Usyk needs to use his footwork and get in and get out
  • One thing you can't accuse Fury of is not taking this very seriously. He looks in the best shape I have ever seen him in.

For me it's Fury all the way if he can keep Usyk at length. That's not a sure thing though. On pure boxing skills Usyk wins.

Controversial split decision on points imo. No idea who gets it though.
  • I'm away at the minute, forgot to bring my firestick. If you anyone happens to know of any decent streams for the Fury Usyk fight later, I would appreciate it

That was my thinking...didnt get it across well obviously!
  • I hope Usyk wins but don't think it will happen. He'd need to knock Fury out for a start as you can almost guarantee some questionable point scoring from the judges to engineer a "result" if it goes the distance.

A rematch is already in the pipeline so that might remove any doubts over dodgy scorecards as they'll be fighting again regardless of what happens.

"Saudi boxing chief His Excellency Turki Alalshikh confirmed that a rematch is likely to go ahead on 12th October 2024"
  • Fancy Usyk to win on points, but Fury looks in great shape
