Look man it's not hard to spell Lookman

Only the correct spelling of his family name is Lukman
This is entirely wrong and has been proven so.

This whole thing went off on Twitter when he moved to Everton. Many were saying it should be Lukman as that is the common spelling of that last name in Nigeria. However their family is from a different region where Lookman is also fairly well used.

Who are you to tell him how his family name should be spelt?
Well I'm someone who has met more Nigerians then anyone else on charlton life so hey that gives me an opinion. Sorry never thought before commenting on a football forum you need to publish a list of tour academic achievements.

I've met thousands of Nigerians in my time quite literally thousands of say up to about 50 thousand and deal with upwards of a 1000 Nigerian families a year. I never met a lookman.

What i will say though im always on the lookout for new knowledge as ita been proven wrong could you let me know whwre i can see thia proof. Id love to know What region the lookman name is from ? Like I always day the proof is in the pudding so please let me tuck into some desert.
    Stripey response? Hmm..

You asked for my credentials I gave them to you no problem there unless it was a rhetorical question that is.
  • Cal me this call me that. Who cares?

If ademola and his family spell their last name in a consistent way, who wants to change it?

I couldn't care less but hate getting something wrong, and also have more then a passing interest in Nigeria.

If the name was more then an anglanised version I would genuinely be interested in knowing from what region/city it is from. As for anglanising (pardon the poor spelling) of a name that's a political point I have given no thought to so have no opinion either way.
  • Notice he's the first Englishman to score in the Bundesliga since Owen Hargreaves in '05

    Shouldn't that be Hargreeves?
    Do you know many Canadians?

I meet about 42,000 per year.
    Only 42000? F***ing amateur!
  • Heard a piece on a podcast this morning that Leipzig (sp) were watching him when he was at Charlton.

Let this be a lesson to all young Charlton players wanting to move on... ;) ... You could be happily playing and scoring in the Bundesliga!

He scored on his debut for Everton. Hopefully this time he will get more game time.
  • Lookman, a strong British name from the year 1211

Ademola's parents are indeed from Nigeria and both use the same spelling Lookman.

Out of interest why would they change from Lukman to Lookman?

I can understand why my mate Obatari Omosevwera uses Terry Amos but Lookman from Lukman? Nah not buying it.
