I know some people are considering going on a match by match basis, but with £175 season tickets available, it wouldn't take many regularly priced tickets (£20?) to exceed the cost of the cheapest season ticket!

Seems to me that those on here who just love spouting about having bought season tickets are in truth feeling a bit guilty about doing so. All the "it's my club" bollocks and encouraging others to buy STs too (because they know they are in an uncomfortable minority) is just covering up their embarrassment. Buying an ST while this shit regime is in charge is just wrong. You know it. I know it.

Have the match ticket prices been released yet?
I assume they can't be too low, especially in the Lower North, as away fans have to be charged the same for the same "quality of seating"
I bought a season ticket because this ain't the worse regime or first time we've been relegated in all the time I've been supporting charlton. If we'd abandoned the club before then it's likely there wouldn't be a club now. I post on here to encourage others to do likewise to counter those that post on here trying to make undecided fans feel guilty if they are thinking about buying a ST. All this bolocks about the principle of not giving the regime a penny is very commendable but realistically if anybody is posting on here still they are more than likely to still support the team and will want to go to the matches as often as they can. Why should fans miss out on the opportunity to save money by buying a season ticket because of another persons principles ?

It is not "bollocks about the principle of not giving the regime a penny".

I wonder if there will be a net in front of the Jimmy Seed.
I reckon you will see a flood of free / cheap tickets through CACT, schools etc first few games to try and get bums back on seats and make it seem as if they hasnt been that major a drop off.
Whether those of us that haven't / won't renew will then buy one off the back of it, we'll have to wait and see.
There will be a lot of emphasis put on 'making a good start to the season'. Important to remember we made a 'fantastic start to the season' last year and it ended up a disaster.

Your choice. I think there is a risk this is the regime that destroys the club. It's certainly the most consistently incompetent ever in playing matters - based on recruitment and coaches it would be hard to argue otherwise. It's no better off the pitch, but that's less of a concern to most. Together that's why it is exceptional and requires an exceptional response, as far as I'm concerned.

If those digging their heels in go to just half of the home games on a match by match basis they will end up giving RD more money anyway don't get the logic!
AB, you haven't answered my question. No season ticket then, but will you attend home games?

Why not? Or, maybe, because they share the detestation of the regime? Or because supporting the team away is the new black...
In my opinion this is the worst regime we have ever had - and I've been there throughout all the bad times going back to 1960/61.
I will still go and see my team, but less often. When I go, I will be protesting if a protest is arranged. I will make absolutely certain that I will spend substantially less on tickets than I would have spent on my season ticket.
That way I support my team, I fight the regime, I make sure that they get less from me as well as none of it up front.
The key point for me is that a season ticket boycott is just about the most tangible and commercially effective thing we can do to show them we won't accept being treated like shit without repercussions.

Your maths only applies to adults in the lower north and I would never sit there regularly at any price because I think the view is rubbish. Someone in a £500 seat could easily pay less match by match and still see all the games.
I have never said I won't attend, but I'll suit myself when and where.
On the subject of the lower north to upper north, they could control this by checking tickets at the access points, but I doubt if it will be done regularly.
I have really, REALLY, struggled with this. On one hand I don't want a penny of my money funding this regime but then I keep thinking why should these arseholes stop me doing something I've loved doing for 18 years. Genuinely changed my mind on an hourly basis some days but I'm sticking to my guns. Away games only (if/when I can get tickets) until Roland goes.
I completely understand if people change their mind and buy a season ticket and I guarantee come the first home game I'll be extremely jealous of every single one of you that do.

Quite a few used to make their way via the NW quadrant. Walk across, and down the stairs to the lower concourse. Stewards never bothered checking before.

No matter how much I want this regime gone, the nearer to the start of the season, the more I'm wavering.
Like an addict returning to his dealer, fairly sure I'll renew before the season starts. I can't believe how much I'm looking forward to visiting Gigg Lane again.
Same here. Vowed I wouldn't be back, but the lure of The Valley is strong. Will wait till a week or so before the season starts till deciding. Previous seasons I've bought as soon as they were on sale.
I am moving to pay-on-the-day and have already decided that will mean I don't go to games like I did last season, just because I bought a season ticket. If we are uncompetitive or not playing well, I will attend fewer matches. I will also buy the cheapest tickets I can and will have an eye on trying to ensure I don't spend significantly more than £200. So, if they take the piss with matchday pricing, I will go less often. I would guess matchday tickets will be available for c £15 In League One, so that would mean maybe 15 homes with the odd £5 or other promotional matches. Given what I will miss anyway because of other stuff, night games etc that might work out well enough.

THIS!!!
As I said earlier you're watching Roland United play masquerading as Charlton Athletic. It's not the same club anymore.

I guess many will be buying lower knowing this is likely to be the case next year.
Don't know if they can close current access as possibly fire exits etc, Airman any ideas?

Remain or Chexit?
