Well in mate -I'm getting a season ticket next year and sponsoring them. The Kent Cup was a good game - was you there for Maidstone at home - best game ive seen in ages.
It's a lot for the 5th tier isn't it but is just a reflection of pricing in general in this Country, added to the fact that lower league clubs rely more on admission income than those higher up the pyramid.
I think those prices (and it's £15 on the day to stand) will be in line with the conference to be fair and the owners have stated that it was based on three things:
1. They don't just want to make up the number in the conference and will aim to be competitive. 2. A new terrace needs to be built at the Springfield end to add 1k to the capacity. 3. They still want to be relatively affordable.
It's ironic though in that many of the things that attract people to non-league football, start disappearing as success happens. I know several people who followed Maidstone all through the wilderness years and have now lost interest following the recent success, due to the fact that all the things that they enjoyed are slowly being eroded.
I agree that £15 per game isnt bad i guess, but its still non league. If it was say around £220, i would have jumped at it. I also get what Bill has said about the reasons for the pricing, but its only a few pounds less than Charlton. Guess it will be a pick and choose thing for me

Still £175 season tickets going at The Valley
Non league and lower division football to me IS expensive, something that will be highlighted when the PL brings in the £30 cap for away fans.
What doesn't help is teams in the Conference going fully pro, which has a massive effect on the cost base needed to survive there. How many teams can hope to survive there on a semi pro basis?

Turns out that's likely to be me in 2 years.
