Knowing Jackson I wouldn't be surprised if he lumped a load of money on himself just to twist the odds and mess with everyone. Remember the 'Emile Heskey is at the training ground' deadline day joke?
I think it is JJ and some of his friends putting money on him to shorten the odds, always ready for a laugh, especially if it makes the regime look silly.
So Russell Slade has worked for Vincent Tan and now likely to end up with either Venkys or Roland as his boss - he must have some serious mortgage arrears or owe money to a Colombian drug cartel.
Whoever is Head Coach will get interference from wrinkly balls and his pet so it may as well be someone who has complete respect of players and fans. That's why Jacko wouldn't be the end of the world.
The more wine I drank this afternoon, the more I decided Jacko would be perfect. Knows club, knows fans, knows what he's letting himself in for. Might dampen protests short term but might also put us on right road to getting rid of RD and getting our Charlton back.
the problem is that the longer it takes to find an acceptable British manager who will actually take the job the more likely it becomes that Roland will decide to install Nobby Vinegar.
According to a journo up north , we couldn't/wouldn't even match Rochdale's Keith Hills salary/deal
Where did you see/hear that?

Fits with the suggestions that we've head coaches under this ownership on around £50k a year.
We have an owner willing to spend a million or two on individual players (plus wages) yet he doesn't see the need to pay the going rate for a head coach or manager who is there to get the best out of those players.

Oh ok cheers.
If that IS the case, then it's clearly a case of WOULDN'T match his Rochdale wages, not couldn't.
Surely this is the crux of the matter alongside their reluctance to hand over 100% to a manager/coach ?
This is why I hope no-one accepts the job & they're forced to turn to the good old network yet again ....
I can't understand why we wouldn't view this as another victory - apart from the inevitable setback for our club in general as per last season . However, I'd view this as short term pain for a long term gain in my scenario.
Yet another recipe for disaster and there must be a limit to how many of those the regime can deal with. Even Mary Berry would struggle to turn that one around !
Ramp up the pressure on a weakened, stuttering set up ; hone in on their failure to "tempt" a British/experienced guy after all the promises to learn from previous mistakes and brick by brick , the crumbling edifice will collapse.
As long as this goes t*ts up from day 1 of the new season, there'd be plenty of time for rebuilding under a new owner and new manager of course. And then , the way forward , or rather onwards & upwards, can begin.

If we should appoint Jackson which I don't think we will it would be because none of the credible candidates would take it.
If that happens we really are in big trouble.
his experiment is an utter joke and an abject failure.
make no mistake, L2 beckons.
they must be removed.
So I reckon Slade will be announced tomorrow.

I could understand that he doesn't want to move south.

Weird and unique.

Simples.
