I would kind of admire that level of pettiness. It's the next level of "I'm leaving and taking my ball with me."cafcledbury said:Roland getting ready to sell so he taking the pitch with him .

Stubbs is now in at Rotherham. Seems everyone can't appoint managers quicker than us.1

Villa expect to appoint Di Matteo in a couple of days, Bolton had a final interview today and expect to make an appointment very soon (Adkins/McDermott/Cotterill), Leeds in talks with Monk, Oldham only lost Sheridan in the last few days and Blackburn, like us, are a basket case.colin1961 said:

Word on the street is we have been turned down by several managers. You can only guess the reasons.
The club under this regime are damaged goods. A laughing stock within the wider footballing community.
No-one will get the assurances they will want regarding control and as such we will be limited to an internal appointment, a friend of the network or someone with low stock.
The situation is of the owners making. He can't do anything to put it right.
2-3 weeks time we get Nobby (as an interim) and we sign a load of leftover dross.
Upshot? Relegated again.6 -

10 clubs have appointed managers since we lost our last one, and just possibly our manager will have rather more on his plate before the season than some of those 10 - how many does this number have to rise to before you question the competence of the regime? It isn't although they don't have much experience in appointing managers.colin1961 said:

it MIGHT (only might) be a help towards finding a good manager/decent players if CARD and Co were to declare a cease fire for (say) the first 6 games (3 home, 3 away) of the new season, thus giving the new (if any) guys a hassle free start .. after that, if things are still stranded up shit creek, guerrilla warfare could recommenceClem_Snide said:Word on the street is we have been turned down by several managers. 2 came straight of the network, 2 were people they knew whilst Peetees was at the bottom end of the Belguim top league, he was always going to snap up a chance of working in the English 2nd tier.
Now they are trying to make a proper appointment, and they are struggling which is no surprise to me. Even there handing of the Wilder approach was a joke the way they told the world what was happening before any deal was agreed1 -

This is bad, even for you Colin. Which ever way you look at it Wilder certainly turned us down. Both clubs admitted that we were in talks with him, yet for whatever reason he ends up at Sheffield United.colin1961 said:

Blackpool appoint Gary Bowyer on 1 year rolling contract as manager0

He's a Sheff Utd fan, played there for years and wanted the job. He used us to get Sheff Utd to show their hand hence it was done super quickly.FishCostaFortune said:

Northampton to Sheffield is under 2 hours drive and quite a few managers work away from home, far closer than Charlton, housing cheaper and children don't have to change school, sometimes Colin is not completely wrong6
