Sheffield does seem a better choice for Wilder but even Colin said he'd signed an agreement with us so like it or not he turned us down.
He had the option of us or Utd and didn't go with us so he turned us down, it happens so it's not the end of the world but we didn't have a plan B and there's the rub.
And it doesn't matter to me how many other clubs don't have a manager as I'm a Charlton fan.
It's June and we need to yet again rebuild the entire squad but there is no one at the helm, no plan, no style of play or direction.
You haven't actually told us anything in the first place!
ive told u its done if nothing else
Indeed, and thanks for that I suppose. So we wait by our PC's and tablets in a state of feverish excitement/sublime indifference/pent-up rage/controlled hysteria/utter hopelessness (delete as appropriate)
Would imagine he as accepted the post before he went away, and as already sorted out his backroom staff and even spoke to one or two players while he as been away so when he returns next they can get stuck into the job ......

'imagine' so basically you havn't got a clue - I doubt it's even Slade
The only person who I can think of who fits the profile is Darrell Clarke of Bristol Rovers.
It would however be a significant "U turn" by him as he only a matter of days ago supposedly rejected any Leeds United approach apparently due to their instability and reportedly "agreed" a new 3yr contract with Rovers.
Indeed it was reported Rovers had even refused Clarke permission to speak to Leeds.
In terms of age and up & coming profile he would fit in coaching terms the "investment" in youth criteria almost religiously embraced by this regime.

Kyle Andrews is a quality article. What a shambles this club is under this ownership.
Fella's in the Belgian league of 'in the knowers'
Kevin Nolan?
Not the football writer (unfortunately).

Yesterday someone called "insider" suggested next week looked more likely.
The bloke is a crook after what happened at Boston United... Almost as bad as having Malky Mackay!!
