  • Welcome to the asylum Russell.
  • That may well be but he's back in Chislehurst at the moment.

Well lets hope a local jorno asks the questions his readers want answered, and has some balls to do so
  • Very good appointment, good luck.
  • Welcome Russell Slade - MANAGER (not head Coach) and good luck mate you will need it. (As others have said, welcome to the Asylum)

Realized around 18 months ago it was the STRUCTURE of our club that was wrong, we will find out in next 3 months or so if anything has really changed for the better.

Meanwhile I'm not renewing my season ticket yet, and will be ordering a CARD T-shirt to complement my black & white scarf, ready for the first game in the glamorous third division.

COYR Support the team, not the regime.
  • All we need now is a DoF, Assistant manager (assuming Simon Clarke will still be 1st team coach), Head Physiotherapist, Doctor, Head of Comms, Ticket manager, and about 6 new good player, and we may resemble a proper football club, but not holding my breath
  • 6 new players should mean we can put out an eleven

Tony Watt has just moved back into the club house he had when playing for Charlton so don't be surprised to see him playing for Russell Slade's team this coming season. I can only assume Slade stipulated he wanted him as part of the deal ?

His flat in the Royal Arsenal?
I think it was above a kebab shop in Lewisham and within walking distance of Bargain Booze.
  • Welcome Slade.
  • This content has been removed.

Meire will want the day to be about her. I just wish the likes of rikofold and seth plum could get press accreditation for the day, they know the questions to ask her and it would be interesting to hear her answers given that Mick Everett won't be able to deflect them, and the top table won't be full of bods from the ticket office and club shop.

Indeed. She won't have her human crash cushions in place. Just hope she does not swear again. Potty mouth.
  • Slade needs to be given a decent transfer budget . This league will be no cake walk
The players linked so far not good enough to get up at first attempt. The incompetence of meire and duchatelet will continue in my view

I don't know if he has a flat or not but he has lived in rented accommodation next to my daughter in Chislehurst & he is back there.

Watt has lived in the royal arsenal for ages. He regularly puts photos up on Instagram of himself on the balcony looking out at the Thames
That's the equivilent of "Having it off" for a Glasgow lad. Next it will be a feature in a Scootish Sunday supplement about eating food that has not been deep fried... Live the dream wee laddy live the dream!
  • If we only lose 2-0 in his first game in charge, will The Mare claim it's an improvement, just like the other 6?

Nope because both neither Bob Peeters and Guy Luzon lost the first matches of their seasons ;)

If a club has a proper manager (which we are being led to believe Slade will be) then you don't have a DoF.

That only happens in a different structure where you have a Head Coach in the more continental-style set-up

And Watt insisted Gudmundsson is sold in the summer.
  • Nothing's changed for me. I wish Slade well and want this appointment to be a success story. But it won't be, not until the owner changes his methods of running a football club.

Perhaps Woolwich is his weekend retreat.

That wouldn't be in Slades Drive, by any chance ? (local Chislehurst knowledge- lived in that road for years!)
  • Best of luck Russell. If he is allowed to manage without much interference he may well do a decent job, but that's a very big if.

A lot might depend on whether his wages are affordable for L1, and whether he's prepared to play in that league

Completely underwhelmed by this. The head is still rotten so whatever is done to the body is irrelevant.

You'd be surprised what a pair of tits and a nice arse can do for an ugly boat
