  • Well its quite obvious that Leicester were looking at Fox seeing they're the Foxes!!

There were scouts at the match last night looking at Harriot and Fox, one was from Leicester.

How do you know this, did they talk to you?
Had the premier league winners badges sewn on to their polo shirt sleeves.

We need two senior keepers in my view and I don't like that Rudd is coming in on loan.

Not so long ago a certain Scott Carson came in on a season long loan and won the player of the year award! Just saying
    Yup, that relegation season.
Not saying it can't work but I'd prefer to sign a regular number one goal keeper on a permanent. We need to build from the back and a settled back four should be the start
I agree but a full season long loan isn't too bad

    Yes.
  • Rudd on loan as No1 with Phillips as No2 playing in the cup competitions, and Mitov able to go out on loan as Beeney can be 3rd choice,

They already have a Fox playing left back, albeit an Austrian one.

    West Ham linked with Fox.

I know there's a range of opinions on him but he's not one I can imagine playing at Premier League level.

I know for a fact he has had premiership club interest in the past. It may come as a shock to some people, but maybe the baying mob of fans is not always right?
No but those who watch him week in week out are
So, one person watches him week in week out has one opinion, and someone else who watches him week in week out has another.

    Who is right?

    Me.

  • @PopIcon is correct, the scout was sitting in the West Lower Block D. Doing a thorough report on whichever player it may have been.

Hasn't the Fox to West Ham link come due to Cresswell having some problem? Some Charlton player tweeted him saying be Strong geezer! I looked at his twitter account, it said he's deverstated! But i don't know why! Injured for season maybe? Hence there Fox interest!

West Ham defender Aaron Cresswell has been ruled out for up to four months with a knee ligament injury.

The 26-year-old left-back was hurt in Saturday's pre-season win over German club Karlsruher.

The Hammers said Cresswell would see a specialist "early next week" when a decision would be taken on whether surgery would be required.

Let's hope Bikey doesn't come back when he's really shit though.
  • Fox got the captain's armband when JJ came off last night.

Started the game as captain at Welling as well.
  • His stance, look and mannerisms are similar to Jackson's. I think Jackson has influenced him somewhat. Plus he's playing where Jackson started out as a player

I would like to keep him purely because I thought he looked a bit better toward the end of the season under Riga, and we can't lose anymore at this stage.

The jury is still out for me though
  • Another day closer to Bury without a signing.

I'd agree with that. Not his biggest fan, but think he will do well this season. I a personally think he's a better bet than THD.

  • I thought today had to be 200pc a signing day. I am actually getting worried that the rumours keep changing which suggests to be the club keep screwing things up and having to switch targets.
  • 3 will sign tomorrow. I can feel it in my bones Tex.

    surely not?

Many of these rumours come from the agents end rather than the club, so half these players we wouldn't have contacted at all
  • One thing is for sure, the Leicester scout wasn't there to run his eye over Lookman. He left about 5 mins after he came on.

He was making lots of notes against a lot of players. In the second half most of the notes were on Ipswich.

I had a nose when he flipped to the Charlton page of his file and he had made shed loads of notes against Konsa. Whether he was there to look at him or not, he certainly caught his eye.

They would probably have watched Lookman already at the Euro youth tournament

Bet you could go on any clubs message board and they will be some fans saying who need players now or the world will end and others saying the players we have are great we've done well this window.

This is far from ideal and I don't trust Katrien to be honest with fans let alone with Russell but even if we take her at her word and they are working hard that doesn't mean the players we want will come.

The player may not want to move, may not want to move to us, may get a better offer last minute (Chris Wilder style), his club may not want to let him go, a player in his position might have got an injury today so the deal is off, the club want us to pay all his wages and we can't or won't do that, we could be waiting to move Tex or someone else on (Ba, Bergdich, Cebellos?) first or any number of other reasons. Or Roland could just say "you have enough players, no more" as he has before.

If the deals happen they happen. If they are not here by Bury too bad, we'll just have to cope somehow.

If they players aren't here by 1 September then we can start worrying.
  • Is it possible they were 'just there' without anyone particular in mind?
  • Is it possible they were 'just there' without anyone particular in mind?

I imagine that happens quite frequently and I'd be surprised if there weren't more scouts there yesterday. I know very little about the scouting world but I imagine if I were in their position, I'd see a club who have a history of their academy producing good players, recent academy products being sold relatively cheaply (Gomez, Jenkinson, Shelvey), relegation so more likely to sell. and the last few games where our squad has been youth player heavy so it's almost guaranteed there'll be a fair few on display. Add to that decent, English opposition who themselves I'm sure have a few who prem clubs might be keeping tabs on, it would see like a no-brainer for scouts
