Could be the reason Swindon made it public that a fee had been agreed to turn it into an auction ??
It's not really an auction if you've agreed the fee
It is if other clubs are aware of the agreed fee and make a higher offer
Dont really need to make a higher offer though.
Birmingham are going to offer the same amount as us as they know it'll be accepted... They cant turn round to Swindon and say: We'll offer you £900k yet you've now got to tell Charlton that their bid isnt good enough.
That would be a big tick in the box for me. I dare say he had others willing to pay that amount but if he has chosen us over them then it's hopefully a sign of Slade's pulling power

I think you're getting a bit mixed up...
Or else Ajose must have a really strange signature for it to be a big tick in the box.

If the player has made it clear he wants out then Power is just ensuring he gets the best price for his player.

By accepting our bid, it's in our/Ajose's hands as if we agree a contract then he will sign for us regardless of any other bids being made/accepted
So, in short, nothing like an auction
Keeping tabs on how @redhenry has been on track and so far, I've got to say I'm very impressed with the rumours to actual occurrence ratio.
Hoping this one comes through.

Belgianand MoroccanJESUS You Are Truely Amazing I love you
Seems delighted with the move... I wonder what Jesus thought of the gestures he gave the fans in the FA Cup
