At what point did you realise you hated Pardew?

I remember when he took over at Charlton. I don't think Charlton Life existed then, if it did it was in it's infancy and I hadn't found it yet. In those days, I used to visit Frankie Valley every day, an there was always such an air of positivity about Pards, how he was turning things around, how he'd put some fight into the team, how we were playing more fluid football... and then we were relegated... and then he disappeared.
The years rolled on, and every so often on Charlton Life some really venomous posts would crop up about him. It was clear that lots of people didn't just dislike him, but hated him with a passion. I never quite got this until today. When Puncheon scored and Pardew did that stupid little dance thing, that was the moment that the scales dropped from my eyes. Disappointment at his inability to keep us up, and a mild feeling that this is a bloke that loves himself too much gave way to full scale loathing; I couldn't help but think words that I will not repeat here. No matter how much I wanted Palace to lose, it wasn't a personal thing against him. But after that dance I thought here is a guy who's just too full of himself, too ready to steal someone else's limelight. I really wanted him to suffer, and boy was I glad when he did.
I realise I'm a latecomer to the Pards-hatred party, at what point did you realise that you hated him?

When he scored against Liverpool.7

When he started blaming us for everything whenever we lost, but I actually hated him before he joined us, when he was pictured looking smug as f*ck alongside Mascherano and Tevez3
-
My first moment of dislike was when I heard he had been contemptuous of a supporter who asked him a question. There was no need for it. The hatred developed as Alan became more Alan.

To nice for giving Deano a good reception. Me and Jesus wept that day.sam3110 said:When he started blaming us for everything whenever we lost, but I actually hated him before he joined us, when he was pictured looking smug as f*ck alongside Mascherano and Tevez

I put my hand up and say when he was appointed I was happy. But then let's face it we had Uncle Les as 'manager'.
Slowly but surely as he spunked money on crap and blamed everyone bar himself.
Plus hearing off-the-pitch examples of his oily arrogance.
Then not resigning and having to sell Varney for 2(?) million to pay him off.
Odious individual.11 -
Just like today it was his celebrations of goals that first started my dislike of him. It's the sheer classlessness of them along with the blatant gloating. Rubbing it in like a spoilt smug brat. This spoilt brat mentality was even more noticeable when I started hearing his post match interviews when he continued to blame refs, other players and fans for every failure rather than himself. He's got worse with age.4

I remember him saying after another defeat that he 'now knew what his best side was'.....well, why the f**k didnt you play it to begin with then. Only for us to get beaten again, and for him to go and buy Andy Gray.4

Loathe the guy. Nothing is ever his fault.
Today was superb - loved watching his disappointment.8 -
Ahh yes, Andy Gray, the missing link1

Is that true or have I made that up?0 -

When I worked with a younger extended family member of his and asked what he was like, just said 'w**nker', he was at West Ham at the time.7

Didn't Andy Gray have a young child that had a brain tumor when he was with us?Karim_myBagheri said:Ahh yes, Andy Gray, the missing link

He's what I'd describe as a lucky idiot. Not a very nice person either, which annoyingly has a linked association with our club as a player and manager.
He has a lot of money. A very comfortable life, if you exclude the pressures of being a premier league football manager. Credit for getting to the final but palace have only won one league game this calendar year.
You can't be that over confident surely?
Winning the FA cup would be a dream and of course you will be enjoying the moment or feeling if/when palace score but the dance was just ridiculously unnecessary.
If he really cared about crystal palace the football club and not his personal merit, he would have witnessed the goal then instantly tried to reorganize his team as it's the closing stages of the game and United are always gana be a threat.
He's a w@nker....and has now been universally fully exposed as the complete utter twat that he is
He loves the media attention obviously but this should be a kick in the teeth.
There's only one realistic place for a car crash like him and that's big brother.7 -

But he was an arrogant onanist then and now.
He lost interest very quickly too3 -
Never liked him as such, but thought a little ego would be good for Charlton for once. I was wrong.1

Nothing is ever his fault, and too smug by a mile. The kind of guy who is always looking over your shoulder when talking to you to see if there's anyone more important he needs to creep over to.3

Never liked him from the first moment I saw him. Always seemed to think he was the mutt's nuts in a look at me I'm the mutts nuts kind of way.1

All i can say is... get him on Strictly, TV gold right there!2

after some post match interviews, where he took no responsibility, showed no respect for the players and all in all was a total tosspot.

It was his wife if I remember rightly. But all the same, he had very personal issues going on whilst with us and that in my opinion can excuse his poor performances after all the hype. He done it for other clubs so had some ability.1StevieG said:

I hated Pardew after I met him with Luke Varney outside the shop we had in Bexleyheath a few years back now. He was arrogant and rude to many people that day. As a manager and the main face representing our club, it was embarrassing, and for me it said all I needed to know about the big nosed twat after not exactly liking him before.6 -
Is there a gif of him dancing like a knob?0
