Sue Parkes has confirmed that Peter Varney's plans did indeed involve moving away from The Valley.
I've now decided that Sue 'My husband never tells me anything but I'm 100% sure that Peter Varney wanted to move Charlton out of the Valley' Parkes, is the Facebook equivalent of Colin.
I've often wondered if Sue Parkes is addicted2charlton since her blind faith in those running the club and her accusations about the fans being unreasonable and to blame for everything, are quite similar to whatever a2c is...
Katrien Meire has zero credibility. The statement that a sale would mean a move from the Valley is presented without any evidence. The inference that Duchatelet is safeguarding the future of Charlton and looking after the interests of Charlton Athletic supporters for reasons above his own interest is risible. Meire cannot contain herself and does not know when it is best not to comment and keep her mouth shut.
The continuation of Katrien Meire as CEO is an on-going & continuing insult to a large amount of Charlton Athletic supporters.
KM is insulting( not for the first time) Charlton fans. RD and certainly KM have not loyalty or respect for Charlton fans. CARD please step up the campaign to get them out.
Now, hypothetically of course, what would you think if .... 1) Meire did have proof of PV wanting to move the club to the peninsular - and PV was calling her bluff?. 2) PV's consortium DID take over, and then stated they wanted to move to the peninsular?.

1. then it wouldn't be a bluff. He's calling her bluff not the other way around.
2. No land on the peninsula for a stadium but let's cross that bridge when we face it. There is no guarantee that a new owner is better than the last as Roland himself proves. When, not if, we drive Roland out we start out as vigilant and ask the same questions of the new owners as we are now, no "they saved the club" nonsense.
The slightest bit of awkwardness and some kind of tourette's kicks in. Panic sets in and rumours and personal thoughts become muddled with facts and out it all comes in an overly defensive manner.
If he genuinely cares about us true fans why doesn't he just give us what we really want, sell up and ride off into the sunset dragging Pinnochio behind him?
We can't even do the closed season without any drama.
The funny thing is, whilst there have been demonstrations for many months which obviously make the regime look bad, I think that their own gaffes have done them far more damage.
does this mean meire told porkies about not being interested in selling? ohhh dear..
I heard a whisper around last Christmas that RD would not stand in the way of a sale if the price was right. Since then, two groups of people have been interested, so in my book, that throws out Katie's claim that the club is not for sale.
What I think has happened is that:
1 - Uncle Dick doesn't like Reg so he has poisoned his name
and
2 - Katie & Tony the Testicle know that they will never ever get another job like this so they have sold RD a dream of getting promoted next season
It would be terrible if Charlton were to leave the Valley, what would all those flats they want to build on the south side of the ground going to look out over?
When you care about Charlton's link to the Valley so much the only way to demonstrate that is to limit the ground's capacity and build flats there - now that's an owner who cares.
I can't believe the people on here who are suggesting that leaving the valley would be a good move, if it meant RD leaving. If the idea of a move had come from RD everyone would be beyond outraged and calling him the devil incarnate. We seem to live in an age where people just want short term gain. The valley is the home of CAFC I hope that it will outlive the current directors and most if not all of us on Charlton Life.
Spot on Shrew. Can't believe people want to move away if it means getting rid of this lot. They'll be gone at some point and we'll be left with a soulless ground in the middle of nowhere with probably a fucking Nandos next to it.
Varney was only going to be a middle man so who knows?
She never spoke to Varney, she doesn't know who the buyers were, she is making it up, she's a liar.
She is also lying about RD not wanting to sell to someone who'd move the club. If someone offered him £50m today he bite their hand off without a second's thought about the Valley, the fans or anyone else.
Why does she need Varney to tell her who the buyers are?
Exactly - maybe they've contacted rd directly? Maybe not but it's certainly not the first time this little nugget has been in the arena - last throw of the dice or going on the attack with a nuclear Bomb? It beats eastenders

Probably in the Premiership, with huge (Prob American banking) sponsorship - with chances of qualifying for Europa Cup and being a regular middling team in the Prem with 30/40 thousand attendances- and no fucka selling our youth for feck-all. Nah, i'd much rather watch Fleetwood at home at The Valley ! Have a good protest, and let our best players be sold on to anyone with the money - yeah - bliss. No wonder we are where we are.

you wouldn't say that if you'd seen Ethel's little Willie.
Weird even for the Puppet? She really is in a lost World of RDs making.
To anyone let alone a CEO you don't make a statement like that to the press. How in hells name did she think (that's a problem possibly) that RV wouldn't challenge it ?
If this isn't the last straw in her appalling stint ,then God alone knows what she had to do
In ground nandos, half the seats have an obscured view of the pitch and the others have a decent view of tv screens which is how fans like to watch their football at the ground eh tony?
In my eyes things have finally come to a head. If PV does get a full retraction then KM's position is untenable and if RD persists in keeping her employed at The Valley then that to me proves yet again what a bad businessman he is! If on the other hand KM does not retract, then we get to see the proposal from PV and can then see for ourselves. If, as PV says it was never the plan to move from The Valley then once again KM's position is untenable, either way I believe that KM's days are now numbered. Should it be proved true (PV to move us from our home) then we, as fans, need to decide if that is an option we would be willing to accept, and perhaps I'm stuck in my ways, but I would not be an advocate of that, after all the hard work tht was carried out getting us back there in the first place. The next 48 hours are going to be interesting one way or the other!! Roll on Friday!!
Transcript of call between Russell Slade [RS] and Iain Dowie [ID] 6 June 2016
RS: Iain?
ID: Hello mate, how are you?
RS: Great thanks. Listen I haven't got long. I've just got a new job and wondered if you could give me any advice.
ID: Sure. Who with?
RS: One of your old teams actually
ID: Well that doesn't cut it down much
RS: Charlton
ID: Oh
RS: So, do you have any advice?
(long pause)
ID: All I can say is that it started to go wrong very quickly for me. But as long as you can get to the end of your first press conference without the boss of another club threatening to take your boss to court, I am sure you'll be fine.

Stupid woman cant be misquoted this time... Quite clearly at 22:51 she mentions the Varney comments
