Will hopefully get kicked out for cheering early on (will be getting text messages ) and then can watch the rest
Tbf I had a pass for 3 days on the lash at Lords last week , still this is more important

  • Will be teaching unfortunately. However I plan to schedule in some "golden time" where the kids can play with some toys etc whilst I have the match on the big screen.

I have to go to my 5 year olds end of year assembley at 230 then will have to wait for him to leave about 310. So will see the first 20 minutes and last 20 of I'm lucky. Bloody inconsiderate women teachers.
Like oohahh can't really get away with it been on the lash in Butlins for a stag Friday-Sunday then in Paris to watch Ireland v Sweden Monday - Tuesday.

I am unlikely to watch it all... As there will be times I am getting a round from the free bar.

  • Managed to swing a 2 o'clock lunch so I can watch the first half but will be back at my desk for the second.

My work are so mean spirited about the wjole thing that they've got "Internet and mobile phone spotters" to grass you up if you dare try to look at the score.
  • I've got a planning meeting at 1pm. Will try to speed through that. However at 3.15 I will be picking the youngest daughter up from school!

I never understood why there's always people willing to grass up other colleagues for minor things such as that. I understand not being on your phone/internet all day but for an England match surely some compromise should be met.
  • Teaching until 1530

Such a Gestapo attitude... Kick the shit out of the collaborators!
Haha! It really is though, and you just know it's the "I don't like football so I wouldn't get an hour off, how's that fair?" brigade.

    Self centred scumbags.

Worst thing is that my boss is quite happy to let our team have 2-4 lunch and just make up an hour as and when, but he got told no as it would set a bad example to the rest of the office.
  • My Lad has got an A level exam, the thinks the exam board are either rugby players or Scottish.
(I booked this day off in MArch)

    You would think so.

Staff morale will be sky high too!!

As for the 'grassers', in my experience the brown nosers go far, sadly!!

At the place where we last worked, there was a real busybody. He used to make sly comments about people being back from lunch late or being 2 mins late. I wouldn't mind but he was a complete nobody. We just used to dump empty cups and rubbish on his desk. Thisbisbthe same person who used to spend half his day on Facebook.

Make sure you let them know the reason you're quitting was because they didn't let you watch the England game.
  • Work. Looking at my calendar, I can opt to put my lunch forward an hour or two.. But realistically, if I end up down the boozer for the first half I don't actually trust myself not to come back pissed after the whole match.

I know they've rigged up displays inside the office for the match, but they treat contractors as leppers.. So from the "Contractor Corner" I can't see shit.

Hopefully I'll have finished up for the week by 1, and I can swing sacking the afternoon off.
  • It's fiesta in the village where I live - I drew the short straw and have to work the phones as the rest of the world is still working.

Bright spot is I may get the chance to work through lunch and be in the pub for kick off, depending on the work load.

So I'm getting back to work :-)
