Kick off is awful time for me as I will still be at work and because of Ramadan, I cant even slip for off for a beer and watch it.
Perfect timing in Dubai. 5.00 kick off and everyone knocks off about 2.00 for Ramadan. And Friday is the weekend here. And we've found a place with the much sought after early booze licence. Happy days.
LR Are you in Dubai? Be good to find another addick here. I am based in DIFC but live in JBR.
Hi @All_Thaid_Up Yeah, I'm in Dubai, living in Sports City. (Moving to Springs next week though) I assumed, from your moniker that you were in Thailand! How come you're working until 6? Aren't all firms supposed to reduce hours this month?
Anyway, we're off to the Fanzone at Kickers in Sports City. Licence from 4pm. PM me if you fancy putting a face to a name . I've heard Barasti is open and serving too, which might be handier for you?
DIFC has it's own laws which are separate to the rest of Dubai. Outside DIFC a maximum of 6 hours per day can be worked during Ramadan, for both Muslims & non-Muslims. Inside DIFC, however, this only applies to fasting Muslims.

Well I never. You boys might need to tell your bosses you're a fasting muslim...

I'm alright as I work in JLT, so I will be out of the office at 4pm on the dot.

I will be watching it at home with a few friends. I live in Arabian Ranches, so not too far away from Sports City. I intend to give Fanzone a try before long; I have heard some good things about it.
I cannot understand any offices in England or Wales today that are not allowing staff the requisite 2 hours to watch the biggest home nations game for 20 years.
A small gesture that would go along way in boosting morale surely.
I have a small business and have an appointment made between 2-5pm but will get a much needed decent order. Told both the staff in the office they can watch on the PC at work. Am recording it so if it's a good match will watch when I get home, if not will watch Germany v poland!
I have given my office the afternoon off to watch the game, just can't understand why you wouldnt, it's just a couple of hours. I have found cover for one of my Welsh battlefield guides to watch the game in France. It's the non football watching peeps that are the most excited about it.
so what happens if customers want to come in or ring up ?
Just divert the phones to the Charlton ticket office.
I can watch the first half - but its my daughter's 11th birthday so have to go and select a Hamster at 3:15....hopefully winning 2-0 by then (some hope)....
My chances of watching the match hinged on my shift taking place with a person who told me to f off last time I saw him (I'm a Support Worker). Delighted that he refused to open the door.

What will your wife say when you come home with Karren Brady?

Feeling for you guys.
Might be the first time I've ever regretted not looking at teaching...
How strange that I didn't mention my impending shortage of work this morning..?
I am to attempt to treat it as a language learning exercise
I feel quite evil.
A few emails from my phone and I should be able to get the second half too.
Aaaargh! Vote Leave !!!
