Shame to see an honest youngster go but really not a miss from a footballing point of view.

I've always said he fits the modern English footballer description, pace, energy, strength, but lacks any real footballing brain and technical ability. Players who give 100% every week without fail, which he did, are always fan favourites but doesn't necessarily mean they were overly gifted.

I think he's replaceable, just hope the Belgians do the business now.

You might change your mind after you've seen Kevin Foley and Andrew Crofts.
Underwhelming, like to think they've got another decent signing up their sleeves but not holding my breath, happy with the first three.

Has the figure been confirmed yet or is everyone losing their nut over a rumour?

Seems like we're selling our most prized assets very early in the window, for not a great price despite what is currently a sellers market. Although classicly - not selling quite early enough to get the squad in shape for pre-season preparations.

At any other club, the rationale would be that this is a necessary To sell early in order to fund incoming transfers. We'll see how that one pans out...

£1.25-£1.4 M, I'm fucking speechless. These lot are beyond belief.
Protests need to go up a gear now - we are fighting for the very future of our club.

Just to add some sort of balance. We as fans rarely have the full picture when it comes to transfer deals. We have no idea how that fee is made up, if it's a full cash upfront amount arguably that a better deal than a couple of mill spread over 2 years.

That said though it does seem a small amount on the face of it. Will wait to see what is done with the money before criticising.

Good luck Jordan, a good servant who gave all he had. Hope you go on to have a good career.

i don't think that's true in the current situation. There's no evidence of a cash flow issue or bank borrowing, which is why it may have been the case in the past.
Well quite but it also may mean any deals for future purchases can be sweetened with cash. Again all speculation but I think we are all to ready to get angry about transfer fees when we don't know the insurance and outs of every dealing.

Guys, I've heard a cast-iron rumour that it wasn't 1.25 rising to 1.4 but just a flat-out 1, with an extra 0.25 when he plays 60 games and the remaining 0.15 if QPR get promoted inside the next two years. And that the 1 will be paid in two installments - one at the end of the transfer window and one next January

The only way we are going to get them out the club is to target their families.

But good luck Jordan, it's a good move for you.

    Well, that escalated.

Good luck Jordan , my favourite player over the last couple of years.

That fee is a disgrace though in today's football. I almost don't want the season to start, back to square one, these Belgian ***** will continue to destroy us. Couldn't give a fuck who we sign, if we're letting our best players go in the meantime . Slade has already told his first lie.'we will not allow anyone to leave here on the cheap' , well that mate if a joke and so are you . Pissed off is not the word

No, we will destroy them. Let's see how it unfolds over the next few weeks first.

Duchatelet in ownership at the club means that Charlton will no longer have to sell their young stars.

So Cousins has stated that he left because we went down but might have stayed had we done alright last season.

    Cheers mate.....see ya!

Probably the best reaction I've seen to any Charlton transfer ever.

Don't get how people can complain about young players being sold, that's completely unavoidable. The issue is the (possibly) low price.

Is there any truth is the rumour i'm starting now that Duchatelet will get 5 million pound when Cousins is sold to Palace for 10 million in 3 years time ?

I hear that Roland is a course and distance winner in this type of transaction.

He would have stayed if the promises made to him when he signed a new four year deal at the start of last season were forthcoming.

It's not the relegation but the nature of it and how avoidable it was.

The feels outrageous. It's not even as if he was JUST a young player with potential. He was one of our star players in The Championship. That's what makes the fee so disappointing.

    Jordan Cousins in SLP

“If we had been promoted or had a chance of getting promoted then maybe it would have been different and I’d have stayed.

“My aim is to be in the Premier League and a club that aspires to be in the Premier League. So it would have depended where we had finished in the Championship.”

No ambition results in Charlton losing its best players. I hate this Duchaelet ownership.

Duchatelet sell the fecking club to someone with some fecking ambition FFS.

Don't worry, Foley and Crofts want to be with us and are much better players. Roland gets some money and we get two players that will definitely improve us.

It's not that we need the money that will be spent on repairing the rest of the squad.
If we got 10mil for cousins ...we wouldn't see any of it. It's RDs, not charltons, end of.

It's the knowing that we have a businessman at the helm that really does not want to go as far as he can in getting the right price to match the value of a player.

It's demeaning to the club and the player itself.

"That's all your worth ...you can basically just walk out"
